I used the company to purchase tires for my vehicle. I paid a large amount down and continued to make payments for 8 months. The tires have been well paid off and I have been paying interest for them. I defaulted by reason if incarceration. The company never reached out to any of the contacts including my fiance, who was on file for emergency. She could have Paid. So today 9/28/23. I had a black truck and 2 men jacking my car up. I asked them what they were doing there and they just replied "you know". I run a business at my home and I have tons of valuables. They could have been stealing. All they had to do was identify themselves. I had money to give them. Instead they slashed the tires that I paid for. I was 31 days late. I've always made payments with this company. I feel it's bad practice to destroy the product I paid for for a year nearly. They devalued my investment and had they acted professional when I asked what they were doing this could have been avoided. If they did their jobs and called the other family member I gave them , someone would have made the payment. My fiance could have told them where I was. It's hard for me to belive this is okay and acceptable. I have been defrauded for all of the money I paid. It's not the same as never paying. I gave them a down payment and consistent payments. When I call them they now tell me that there is no contract moving forward and not to worry about paying. How is this right ? Destruction of the property that they are receiving payment on seems illegal and I'm ready to launch an investigation with attorneys. Oh, and the entire transaction was recovered via home security and ring cameras , so there is full proof of everything. Someone on my property refusing to identify themselves at my car is really really illegal and not okay. My daughter watched this entire scene happen. They pulled huge knifes out!!!!Business response

The customer had made a total of 9 payments, 7 of them being 7-21+ days late. Our customer was incarcerated back in August, and we had worked with him through that and were beyond reasonable. On 9/25 & 9/27 the customer was given repossession notice after not replying to calls or text messages for 33 days.
Our recovery team went to get our product back on 9/28. They had jacked the front right corner up and had began recovering the product. All of the sudden, the customer jumped in his vehicle and tried driving off of the jack. As the customer hopped out to pull the jack out, our team member had flattened 2 tires as the customer sped off to avoid repossession. Team members were then confronted by customers significant other and were met by a threat of “releasing their dog on them” and “see what we do to your truck”. After threats were made, our team members removed themselves from the situation and left.
It is NOT our responsibility to manage a customers incarceration schedule.
In summation, stated on every purchase agreement:
“You are renting this property. You will NOT own it until you make all of the regularly scheduled payments or you use the Early Purchase Option. You do not have the right to keep the property if you do not make the required payments or do not use the Early Purchase Option. Subject to your reinstatement rights, the lessor may repossess the property if you fail to make the rental payments as scheduled.”
