Hi, We had an air system unit installed on 3/23/2023 by Air systems Heating and cooling. I do not have a problem with the quality of work performed by the business. But I do have an issue where it was placed on our ceiling. When I got home to look at the air system, I felt it was not placed where it should have been. It was placed further out from the furnace on the ceiling making the ceiling low if we ever decide to remodel our basement and also making the duct work longer then it needed to be. I reached out twice by email to the business regarding this. My husband received an email saying that it was placed where it should have been. As you can see by the attached pictures, which I sent to them, the duct work was made longer and could have been hung closer to the furnace. I circled where it should have gone. I am not an expert in heating and cooling and I can see that it was not placed right. They told us that they would come out to look at it but they would charge us if they had to move it. I am not paying to have something moved that should have been known where to be put the first time by the installer. I explained this in an email twice and no one responded. Thank you.

      To whom it may concern,

*** **** solicited ASM to install an owner provided ERV unit. *** **** was provided a cost to install a unit that ASM was going to provide in lieu of him purchasing it of the internet. When we were contacted by *** ****, he provided only his name, his email and his phone number as contact for this project.  We were not aware that there was another party (his wife) involved in this project.

*** ****’s budget was at 4,000, but our cost was higher than 4,000. *** **** offered to complete some of the work so the budget of 4,000 could be met. ASM then scheduled the work to be completed.

*** **** was present before, during and after the install by ASM.

The ASM installer installed the unit where he felt was the best place for the application, with no objection from *** ****.

*** **** did NOT mention a finished basement, no drawings, no comment or concerns where the unit was being installed that day.  *** **** was present for the entire installation process.
Only after the job was completed did **** **** contact us and state that she did not like the unit location and wanted it moved.  Until this point, we have only dealt with *** ****.  Our company and employees had no contact with **** ****.

ASM goes above and beyond to make sure our installations are precise and accurate.  I refer you to our reviews online.  Nevertheless, this situation with the ***** happens occasionally.  At ASM, we bid jobs very competitively.  We are unable to go back and change things at no charge due to a lack of communication between the homeowners when this situations arises.   I am very sorry that the ***** are not happy with the unit’s location.  The unit is installed properly and correctly, the only issue is that **** **** is unhappy with the location.

If **** **** was the decision maker for this project, I feel that she owed it to ASM to be present or at least communicate her comments of placement upfront and not after the installation was completed.   Obviously, *** **** had no issue with it as he was present while we were installing it.  If the ***** wish to have the unit relocated, ASM would be more than happy to provide a cost.  ASM also would be willing to do this at our cost.  This was communicated with the ***** after **** **** expressed her dissatisfaction with the unit location.
