Scam. They prey on the sick and elderly people just to make a profit and line their pockets.

My husband had a DNR and they still put the life vest on him. He was unable to sign consents due to his confusion after his stroke. The sales representative pressured him into signing.. the life vest was uncomfortable and he hated it. My husband then had a UTI with sepsis and had another heart attack. The vest did not warn us at all. So back into the hospital he went. The Doctors removed the life vest and when I questioned them about the removal, they told me he had a DNR and never should have had it in the first place. I am refusing to pay what our insurance companies already paid on the account. Its over $600.00.

Boy these guys are slick! My husband was prescribed the LifeVest by a cardiologist during a week long inpatient stay to heart failure. This DX was sudden and lifechanging. A ************** salesman dressed in scrubs strolled in after we received what we felt like was devastating news. He said he knew what kind of insurance coverage we have and unfortunately our carrier is the "only one who gives Zoll any trouble when a patient is prescribed this life saving device". At first we told Mr. ***** we wanted to discuss amongst ourselves and get back to him. After he departs, the nurses and doctors start emphasizing the importance of getting fitted for the vest and that we should not leave without it. Mr. ***** also hovered around the room, finally catching me in the hallway when I stepped out to grab some water. Mind you, we are already down - and I am significantly lacking sleep at this point. He reiterates to me the importance of the vest and reminds me of the risk of my husband going into sudden cardiac arrest. I let him know I'd be in touch. During every conversation with Mr. ***** he provided assurance our carrier makes it difficult, but **** "can fight it and prove medical necessity" - "don't worry - you'll just have a copay". Well Mr. ***** and the hospital staff wore us down and we signed the waiver - "just a formality". Fast forward two months - today, here we are on our last appeal with little hope that this stupid device will be covered. Not sure how we are going to come up with the $10K to pay this bill. I hope Mr. ***** and the prescribing physician enjoy their kick backs and continue to sleep well at night. I have never been so disgusted by an experience. Not to mention - we aren't even done with the appeal process yet and Zoll is billing us! Based on direction from the doctor today, we told **** to come get their device. The response? Why? I do not recommend this device or company to ANYONE. They are shady, unethical, and prey on the vulnerable.

This business needs to be investigated as well as the hospitals who bring in sales people scaring the most vulnerable people that just had a heart attack. This vest is unbearable to wear. Had for just a week and sent back. Have *** receipt stating the date of return. They charged ******** $4720.00 and they paid $2625.61 and now charging me $669.80. Services are for Nov. 24 2023 and return was Dec 4th, 2023.

Did not work properly and repeatedly tried to shock husband without cause. Also we returned unit and they couldn't locate the return so they are billing for more months than he used the unit. PLEASE ask your doctor to prescribe a different device. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

This is a rip off! We returned product in a week and they billed us $300! They say they bill for how long you HAVE it not how long you USE it!! I will NOT be paying anything!The concept is good but the product is flimsy and constantly gives an alarm signal, such as device is not fastened when it actually is! It was a freaking nightmare!!

I agree with all the other comments below. I am in the hospital about to be released and a sales person comes in and scares you when you are in a vulnerable state in your bed. I am refusing to pay the bill. They have received 80% via mi insurance so that is it. Of course, they are not BBB approved!

They convinced me that I needed this vest and ******** covers the cost....the **** thang shocked the h*** out of me with no warning,leaving ***** on my chest and resulted in me going to the hospital.The company admitted that it was a unnecessary inappropriate accidental charge....but sent me a bill for over $600 which they later cancelled after my complaint. User Beware...this device can seriously hurt you...zero stars

After my heart attack dignity health hospital told me I would have to wear his zoll life vest, they also said it would be covered under Medicare both companies lied I should have called Medicare and ask them about this scam in Pennsylvania someone needs to stop this the vest only worked 1/8 of the time problem after problem returned it after 3 weeks of misery what a joke these people are clearly thugs and do nothing but pray on the weak they should be shut down immediately do your job close him down they keep sending me a bill in the mail I keep throwing it in the trash I don't have any money probably never will there's nothing to take from me so can shove it where the sun don't shine anymore

I had a heart attack on January 2, ****. Medical intervention was angioplasty and stent. Doctor would not release me unless I agreed to sign up for the vest and related two scary stories about patients who died because they weren't wearing the vest. The days and nights I wore the vest were uncomfortable and stressful. I will be calling the company that I wish to return it and also the insurance company. I left a one star because I couldn't submit my story without it.
