On April 13, 2022 I had Associated Electric out via American Home Shield to check some outdoor outlets that quit working. They came and said they'd call the warranty company to see what's covered and I'd hear back in a day or two. They collected their $100 service fee and never contacted me. I called the warranty company and they said I needed to open up walls so they can see where the wires go. I contacted another electrician and paid $225 and it was fixed in less than thirty minutes. They collect fees and do absolutely no work. This was an easy fix that a competent electrician could easily handle.

I keep losing power to only 1/2 of my home. It flickers on and off all day and at times for long periods. When the contractor came, I was told since the power was back on he couldn’t fix it which is something I can’t control hence me placing the claim to begin with. He said he’d leave the work order open and to call him directly when/if it went back out. A few days later the issue happened but when I called he said he’d closed the work order already of course and to place another claim and HUNG UP. I had already paid 75.00 for him to spend 5 minutes at my house that week to do nothing. I called American home shield back and explained all of this and requested a different contractor and told them I would not pay yet another deductible. They stated they were sending the same company but would request a senior representative. I get a text reminder stating a contractor had been assigned to the job and not only was it the same company it was the exact same guy that had come prior which I knew because the contact information was the exact same cell phone number he had provided to me to call when the power went back out. Needless to say it’s been 5 additional days that I’ve waited and he never called to schedule a return. I in turn follow up with AHS once again for them to tell me that he never submitted a diagnoses and that they would need to wait for a diagnoses before they could assign a different contractor. AHS couldn’t provide any type of time frame. Clearly this company is only concerned with collecting the fee and not actually fixing the problem. So here I am in a waiting status in the DARK. I’m disappointed in both the warranty company and the contractor that is providing the services. I want my deductible back or a reliable contractor who cares about repairing the issue. I very well could have a short which could cause a fire. This situation is dangerous. I have a 15 month old in my home and would like to keep my family as safe as possible from a fire
