I looked at a Hyundai Kona on Autoland Hyundai of Uniontown’s website and requested more information hoping I could actually be helped this time. I had some spotty communication through email with a man named Gary. Nothing really came of it but I ended the conversation with the number I’d be willing to pay a month and what features were important. I did not have a response. I started to get a bunch of notifications that my credit was being ran and I had multiple hard checks on my credit…I was not currently looking at a car or was proceeding with a purchase so I was confused why it was being ran. I looked on my Experian app and saw it said “Autoland”. I had never gave my permission or even filled out an application for them to run. I reached out to the “concierge” that emailed/texted me prior. I wasn’t getting responses fast enough so I decided to call. I was put on hold for maybe a second when someone got on the line and immediately started to apologize. I asked why my credit was ran without my permission or why I didn’t receive any communication as to a potential vehicle purchase and he just said “he was trying to help me out”. I asked how they even ran my credit and he said “we used your old information on file”. He continued to give some random excuses and I ended up hanging up on him because I was so frustrated. So you’re telling me that my information from my previous Hyundai Kona purchase in October of 2021 is still just openly available to use with my social security number? The information they have isn’t even accurate anymore because I have a different job with a different income. How is that even allowed? They hurt my credit by doing this and I am absolutely frustrated with this whole experience.Customer response
