Scotts Tree and stump removal was working on the house next-door to me. They had excavators in the driveway without asking me if they could use our driveway there were tree limbs and branches all over my driveway and my yard. They also knocked over my lamp post. I have pictures if youd like to see them *****, the owner offered to replace the lamp and then he said he changed his mind. He put a new lightbulb in and it was working a couple weeks ago. It stopped working and we had to have it replaced and I sent the invoice to Pay. *****, the owner offered to replace the lamp and then he said he changed his mind. The Lampost was in perfect working condition until they knocked it over. Hes claiming that it was old and needed to be replaced anyhow.Initial Complaint

We got a verbal quote for removing a tree, grinding the stump and cleanup afterwards. They did a quick job of removing the tree and grinding the stump, but left a mess in my yard and did NOT clean up. Then the owner said his son “does that on the side” and would do it for an additional $250.00 - almost 10% more. Additionally they left rust and oil marks on my driveway and sidewalk that I haven’t been able to remove. I played back the security video that clearly indicates the estimator said “Remove the tree, grind the stump and clean up - $2,850.00”. Then the estimator said to look in the ValPack for a coupon for $100.00 off, but “Don’t tell the boss I said that”. The owner, who ground the stump, said “No, he never said that” even though he wasn’t with the estimator. Seems to me this is a poor way to conduct business. Also, because I’m a senior citizen, I feel he took advantage of me. I think they should make some kind of amends to this.Business response

The customer was aware the stump grindings stayed, after the tree was removed he told me what a great job my crew did.I the owner came afterwards and ground the stump.once I was done he realized how many grindings there was and didn’t know what to do with them.Additionally none of my equipment is rusty nor leaks oil.He asked that we chase all roots and we did. He was pleased with the work upon completion but a week later he is not?I told him my son does the stump cleanup on the side.Initial Complaint

On April 27th 2022. scotts tree and stump removal was scheduled to perform a service at my home. We had a representative from their office come out give us a quote on the work and whether pending the job would be completed. One of the reasons that we chose this business was we were told by the person that gave us the quote that they would not need to come up our yard. I was told by the gentleman on the site that the previous employee who gave us the quote is no longer available with the company. I stated to this gentleman it's a little cold today and because that guy's not here if you need to reschedule that's fine. He assured me that they would take care of it. Short while afterwards he asked me what exactly was being done I showed him all of the areas that needed work and that I had previously went over with his fellow coworker. As the job began I was in the house I heard rumblings in my yard as I looked out the window I saw a machine in the yard. I went outside to check the damage and because the ground is soft there are deep grooves and impressions in my yard which I wanted to avoid. I called my wife because she had the contact information when she called the owner of the business the boss as the other gentleman referred to him as he was extremely rude. My wife told him the previous gentleman told us that nobody will be coming up our yard and he replied to her and. My wife replied well that's what we were told and that's not what we want. He then hung up with my wife called the guys at the work site and canceled the job. I was able to get the phone number from my wife I called him and explain the situation. He was extremely dismissive not at all concerned about rectifying the situation. I told him the reason why we had an issue with the yard. He was extremely rude. The guys on the site had already started cutting down trees. When he got there they packed their equipment up and just left leaving the debris in my yard.
