Last August Ned Sherlock with Pioneer Asphalt & Paving came to our residence and chipped and sealed our driveway. We signed a contract with Ned and the contract included a 5 year maintenance free warranty. Within the several months the driveway started to wash out and I attempted to make several calls with no response. I reached out on ******** ********* where someone responded stating they would contact me within 2 weeks. No contact was made. I have reached out several more times with absolutely no response back from anyone at Pioneer Asphalt. The driveway has washed out so bad I had to pay someone to fill the ruts. Originally all I wanted was for Ned Sherlock to honor his warranty, but now I want a refund for failure to comply with his contract.Initial Complaint

July 2024 Ned S******* came by and he would chip and tar our drive way With 2inch stone. Not even 1/4 in. Said he was a man of his word and waned a hand shake to commit his work. Grass already growing. Dumped gravel his workers scraped up and put in my yard.Can't even mow area. Called several times Will not return calls All I get is promise s.Customer response

Ned Sherlock / Pioneer Asphalt was contracted to do my driveway. In the process of doing the asphalt the installer removed some of the rock that created a very visible non drivable surface. It’s not finished and they won’t answer my calls or come back. Want the job finished.Customer response

On ********* Pioneer Asphalt& Paving came by our place and spoke with my husband about chip and sealing our driveway. They agreed on $3,500 with a 5 yr warranty. They done the drive that day. By January the driveway was beginning to wash away. Since then multiple calls were made to their number, ************. Each time the woman told my husband she would pass our number on about condition of our driveway. I emailed them as well. To date no one has responded.Initial Complaint

Company came fixed my driveway was so happy with the way it looked but I told John when it rained hard sometimes my gravel would wash away. He said not with this and besides you have a 5 year warranty if anything happens this was in Oct 2023. I called them in Nov 2023 no body called back and as of today no one has called me backInitial Complaint

The work was done at the first of October 2023. The owner was to lay 1/2" to 2" of stone a base to hold the stone. The work has started deteriorating from the start and you can see through the stone to the original concrete underneath. He refuses to answer any calls or text messages. The answering service gave the companies home address as N. Augusta, SC and BBB has an address in Murfreesboro, TN with the same owner Ned Sherlock. I want the work redone or my money returned. The other complaints are the same has mine.Customer response

Is my only option to get an attorney or are there other options with BBB to get Pioneer asphalt to correct his work or refund my $4000.

Company was hired to install tar and chip over existing paved area and increase the parking area in one portion of the property. The crew cleared the new area and dumped the dirt in a tree line to the rear of the property unbeknownst to us. This was discovered in the fall after the tree line died back. That was about 7 months after the project was done. Just 4 months after they completed the tar and chip the grass began growing through the new area. I contacted the business and left messages for several months until afer calling the voicemail number and the mail box remained full. If others have experienced similar then please reach out to me because I would like to pursue legal action. This group of thieves should have to own up to their shoddy work. ****/2024 Mr S******* came to my home and offered to finish my driveway with asphalt and gravel. He offered to do it at a price of $5500. He asked us to “just trust him” to be a man of his word. He promised the job would be done to our approval before they left the property. During the process of leveling the drive the machine operator hit and damaged our carport. I made several of the workers aware of the damage, I even talked to one of the bosses and showed him the damage, he was talking on the phone with someone who told him to tell me somebody would come look at the damage. After I didn’t hear anything from Mr. S******* for a few days, we called and left a message for him. He came by my house a little later that morning *****/24) He looked at the damage and said he would get somebody out here to fix it. After another week had passed we called him again ****** He said he was working on it and if he couldn’t get someone to fix it he would turn it over to his insurance. That was the last contract we had with Mr. Ned S******** We have called him at least twice a week since then, left messages with the answering service but he hasn’t returned our calls. It has been a month since this incident and something should have already been done about my damaged carport. I paid Mr S******* in good faith and, against my better judgement, trusted him to honor his word and the contract.Customer response

We have not heard from Pioneer Asphalt and Paving as of this date. My next step is to speak to my attorney regarding this situation.

Asphalted my driveway and guaranteed it for 15 years. Said that if the job did not meet the guarantee which included grass would not grow through the asphalt and that it came with a money back guarantee. Work was completed **** *. I have called three weeks in a row every day and have to leave a message with a lady who says she will have someone call back. Grass is about 6 feet inches tall or more throughout the supposed asphalt that was put down. I have not hear back from anytime. The gentleman who sold the service was Ned S******* with Pioneer Asphalt.Customer response

The name of the man owning the business is Ned S. ******** i****** ** *** ********* The grass isn't 6 feet tall , however it is 8 to 10 inches which I wasn't supposed to have any there to start with. More grass growing since being paved that my old driveway had.Initial Complaint

On ******** ** of 2023 I paid 5,500 to have my driveway done where I signed a contract that guaranteed me a warranty that if the driveway was not done correctly I could follow up with issues that needed to be resolved. The driveway was suppose to not have growth of grass come through and only a few days afterwards grass had already grown through. The driveway also was not leveled properly and every time it rains there are huge puddles throughout the driveway. It is also uncomfortable to drive through when it is dry as well considering it is a bumpy ride over the driveway that was suppose to be leveled. I reached out and spoke to the specific individual who had done the job but that person failed to do anything about it. They have not called with any date they would come out to fix these issues. They had their son call me and say that unfortunately he is going through many things such ** ** ****** ** * ********* Things that do not concern me or performing the task I had paid for. It has been a very stressful experience and I have called the business over 5 times and each time someone takes down a message but there is no follow through with my issues. I would like to receive a full refund considering I am extremely dissatisfied with the entire experience and the negligence to my concerns and to their warranty.
