Multiple attempts were made to cancel this "vacation rental" contract by my parents in the past due to not being available when they wanted use the membership To no avail the rentals never aligned with the dates they needed but my mother continued to have hope it would be useful at some future date and faithfully sent a renewal check payment each year. April 2023 she decided to give it one more year and if not fruitful then probably cancel in 2024. Then on May 1, 2023 I found my mother deceased. My father, now a widow after 46 years of marriage, decided to CANCEL this travel policy as he would not be using this travel membership that my MOTHER purchased and was the travel companion for. My father made telephone calls to Travel Services Unlimited multiple times to confirm receipt of check payment and to cancel the membership due to what had occurred with my mothers unexpected passing. NOT ONCE did an agent ever say anything about sending a written cancellation notice during these interactions as my father would have asked me to handle that request and send notice at that time. I feel that this company is using deceptive marketing practice targeting vulnerable groups using misleading tactics such as making it hard to cancel and jump through hoops and sending aggressively worded letters to families after having gone through such an unconscionable situation. My father clearly called more than once to this company. They act as though they had zero communication from him. My mother had buyer remorse for years over the nonuse of this membership. To which I suggested to cancel every year.My father asked me to step in and I WILL NOT TOLERATE him being taken advantage of. It needs to be stopped! Please look into this and handle the deceptive business tactics I feel are being used here. ************** Unfair Trade Practices Act (SCUTPA) is found at 39-5-10 et seq. of the ************** Code.Business response

I called and talked to the daughter, ***. As I explained to her, there were no notes or communication stating they wanted to cancel their membership. When the daughter told me about the circumstances, I immediately cancelled the membership. The ********'s have no other obligations for their membership. If she would have called and asked for a supervisor from the beginning, they would have been cancelled. A cancellation letter was sent to them for their records and all areas have been noted. We wish *** and her family the best.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I feel they went above what I had expected and do appreciate the resolution. My father was satisfied when I gave him the correspondence.
Thank you.***
