I keep getting phone calls from this number and I have already paid the bill through the hospital. I tried explaining that once, but they said it went to collections so it doesn’t matter. I would like an itemized receipt so I can send the receipt I have paid to the hospital.Business response

I received a call from someone stating they were from CCC debt collector and gave me an address to go to which is resolvemyaccounts.com/cbcollect_p and gave me an account number and gave the telephone number 877-238-0807 for me to call. This is not the same number that they were calling from. The number they were calling from is 423-354-0175 which is a Blountville Tennessee number. I do not have a bill that should be in collections, so this looks like a scam.Business response

CBC is located in Blountville TN. The phone number we called from was our local number and the phone left for call back was our toll free number. The payment website given is valid and correct. Itemized bills can be provided to the consumer for validation.Business response

This is the same information that was provided from the company before. Payment was made to the original service provider. There should be no longer need for any further contact. If the collections company agrees, it is okay to close the claim.Initial Complaint

I was contacted via text message last Thursday that I had a bill owed and it was in collections. I called and made a payment with set up monthly payments. Was told that it would go against my credit if not paid in 30 days. Five minutes later I called to pay the full balance and the person assisting me said she would credit the first 100 dollar payment and charge the full amount in one transaction. Well that didn’t happen. My account was overcharged the first payment of 100 dollars. I called the next business day and let them know the charge had not reversed. She assured me it would be taken care of but the next day it was still not taken care of. I want to make sure that I get my money back and also that my card is not charged again. I still don’t understand why she insisted on charging my account the whole balance instead of just deducting the first payment and charging the rest of the balance.Business response

It appears there was some confusion in that the consumer had set up payments of $100.00 a month. When the representative processed the payment, she was unaware the payment has already processed she did remove the payment arrangement that was set up but that $100 had already ran. She then put in the whole amount thinking that payment had been removed. On August 5, we refunded the $100.00 payment but per the credit card company and the banks involved this could take up to 3 business days to be refunded nothing that we control. We have been told this $100 was returned to the consumer and the representative has been informed on this to make sure this does not happen again.Customer response

Good afternoon - I received a call from CBC, phone number they called from was 877-238-0807. They did not state who the call was for, only that I needed to call them or go online to pay my bill. I have no idea what this is regarding, so if I really do owe something, I'd like to have itemized billing, which I can't seem to get them to give me. They gave me account number ***********, and I went online to see if there was another way to contact them, and it's only for payment processing. If this is healthcare related (and I'm not sure what it is yet), In the past, I have been charged duplicates from this healthcare system (they own all hospitals within a 200 mile radius). So unless I get an itemized statement of anything owed, I'm not going to pay them. If this is not healthcare related, I would still like what this balance is for. I work in IT, and I don't blindly answer any questions due to the rise in suspicious activities in email, texts, phone calls, etc. If this is a scam, I'd like to find out as soon as possible. I rented a room to a guy named ****** ***** around 12 years ago. They keep calling my number for him on and off over the years. I’ve explained he does not live here. They’ve taken me off the phone list multiple times but then in months I start getting calls from them again. This has been going on for 12 years. I rented this guy a room in my house for four months around 12 years ago. I have explained to them I do not have any current contact information for him. I am currently receiving calls Again.Business response

CBC is listed on my credit report with a collection from an old apartment complex that Id already reached an agreement with. However before I completed my payments it showed up on my credit as collections. I did not give permission for my information to be sold. In addition to that I was never contacted by the new creditor for payment options and was unable to continue paying the apartment complex. This has been on my report for years and is hindering some of my current financial plans. Please help me remove this.Initial Complaint

On 4/26/2023, I received a call from CBC LLC regarding an outstanding bill of ~$226.56 for a procedure in November 2022. I don't recognize the doctors that performed the test. I did not have any tests done in that time period. I noticed on BBB, there's another transaction with the same amount and the same CBC LLC company out of Tennessee. I live in Virginia. The gentleman who called my name was **** ****** ***** ********. I asked for the owner and president of CBC LLC: ***** *******. After several minutes of discussing the amount, telling me the company, and account number. I asked **** to have the claimant contact me from the source of the bill. I called to my surprise no answer. This is the second call I received from CBC LLC, the same amount, I suggested they contact my legal counsel. I don't wish to have this on my credit score and stop calling me. That's it. Can you help?Business response

I received a letter from CBC dated January 3, 2023, attempting to collect a debt that it states was owed to The Urology Clinic in Johnson City, TN. I owed no such debt. I viewed my account on The Urology Clinic web site and it showed that I had no balance due with them. (The Urology clinic sent me a bill dated 12/5/22 and I paid this bill via their web site on 12/16/22.) I sent a letter to CBC on 1/7/23 confirming that this debt was paid. I included with this correspondence a statement from The Urology Clinic that confirmed this debt was satisfied and no balance was owed. I specifically indicated in my correspondence that I was disputing their statement of debt and they should not contact me. On 1/31/23 I received 3 phone calls from CBC regarding this debt. Given that CBC was notified in writing and provided proof from The Urology Clinic that no debt was owed, I believe this effort on the part of CBC was fraudulent as it was an attempt to receive funds from me under threat of damage to my credit report. I discussed this matter with a representative of CBC on 1/31/23. He was rude and would not listen to my communication regarding this matter. I believe this attempt to collect a debt not owed is a violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. I am seeking a financial settlement of $100 to compensate for my time spent resolving this matter as CBC did not respond as required to my written correspondence with them and engaged in harassing behavior over the phone.Business response

CBC Collections has attached my maiden name (***** *******) to the account of a minor that I am a stranger to. I do not know ***** - I assume last name ******* but am unsure, existed until I was contacted by CBC. CBC refuses to remove my name because we have the same last name so they believe I am responsible for the debt. After telling them I do not know this child (they advised me of his name, and date and place of service and as of this email still haven't verified me), they insisted I am responsible because of the name. I have been married since 2019 and became a ****** at that time. Their lack of verification prior to releasing information and refusal to remove a third party is inexcusable and I believe may be illegal due to the involvement of confidential medical information of a minor.Business response

The address, the date of birth or social does not match her information only the phone number in which we removed from the account once we spoke with her.Customer response
