Purchased a trigger on maxammodepot.com where a 20% discount was given if paying by *****. After a week, I asked for tracking information. I was given the attached email that stated that the item shipped via "swiftway logistic", which is a scam shipping company who asked for an additional $150 of mandatory shipping insurance.

I ordered a product from this company which was in stock and paid for it through PayPal through an email account. I contacted them roughly five days later to check on an expected arrival date. They said that the product was shipped via Swiftway Logistics. A day or so goes by and I receive a message from Swiftway Logistics stating that I have to pay a refundable insurance fee of $165.00 through PayPal to an email account. The shipping company said they didn't get the $$$ as it was filled out wrong. I cancelled the PayPal and resent the order again using their provided email address which like ******** was a private individual. They waited over the weekend to inform me that they didn't receive the payment, but now I'm unable to cancel PayPal. Both companies requested that the $$$ be sent through PayPal's *************** option. Which was later discovered has the policy of not being able to dispute a charge through PayPal. Both companies are difficult to contact either by phone, text or email and when you do, they're both very cryptic and hard to understand. Neither company were helpful and they wouldn't return the $$$ sent by PayPal. I contacted my credit card company and they agreed with me that it sounded like a scam being conspired by both of them working together. A complaint was filed and the bank is working with PayPal and the two merchants to refund a sizable amount of money collected by both companies. Personally I don't think it's going to happen and am looking at not being able to recoup funds sent to two scamming companies. So I"m venting my frustration on this site. Original order was placed on 4-1-23 and of this writing, 4-17-23 I have not received the purchased product. I've left emails with ******** cancelling my order and requesting a refund. The same was done with Swifway Logistics. I am a retired Government Civilian Employee of the *** Navy.

BBB Sirs, Below is a copy of an email I received today.  I'm not sure how to attach the actual email but I can forward it to you if you have a return email address for me.  Thank your for following up with this matter.  ***********************

      Hello ******,

I was hoodwinked myself, and not paid as being a "cashier" for servcies for ************ and have severed my ties with them as a result.

Therefore, I understand where you are coming from completely - and I apologize for my unwittingly duping you of your money. I've tried tracing the business myself - of course they've gone silent and won't respond to me! I've done some basic research on the internet and it sounds like this is a common scam. I have just thrown up my hands and given up on the money they owe me and will not be in contact with them and am moving on with my life, more carefully!

I hope this answers your questions from my end - I wish I could help more - but I've tried for myself and was unable to reach any sort of traction. My state police trooper advised me just to let it go, as legal pursuit of the payments owed me were less than the legal fees I would pay to get my fees, you know?

Again - I apologize -  I cannot tell you what to do - only be honest and let you know what happened on my end.

If you need more info. or would like to chat just shoot me an email - thanks!

Email me back concerning a papally dispute as Im close to filing with the BBB, Chamber of Commerce and local law enforcement.

Im currently with PayPal and investigating fraud on your end.

This concerns an order with ************ placed on 4-1-23 and the refusal of you shipping this item to me unless I pay an extortion insurance fee of $165.00 of which Ive done twice. Apparently once by your account to the wrong person which was canceled and refunded. The second one went letter per letter to the address that you provided on 4-14-23 complete with email.

      *******************,

I would still want a refund of my $$$ from both companies, ************ and Swifway Logistics.  I sent along the email that I received to show that this was intentional scamming and give you possible means to black list or even bring criminal charges if needed.  Bottom line, I want a refund, however I totally understand and have resigned myself to the knowledge that I may never see the $$$ again.

      Thank you,

****, Thank you for your information, I'll submit a separate claim for Swiftway Logistics.  I had included them in the original complaint because to me they were both working together in this scam.
