I brought a vehicle off this guy at his lot his name is ******* *****, he posted the vehicle on marketplace place stating that the vehicle was in excellent condition... Which wasn't true at all... The transmission is going out on it I paid him ***** because what he told me that it was in excellent condition... I've only had the vehicle for 3 days and I can't even drive it... And it is also leaking rear end grease.... This man is using marketplace on Facebook to lie about his vehicle..... I have all the proof what he said the description on marketplace and his texts from my phone.... I found out these problems thru Family Auto in Erwin Tennessee, that's where I took the vehicle to have it checked... That is not a trustworthy and honest business he lies to people to make money off of vehicle that's not in excellent condition as he claims on everything he posts.... If you need any farther evidences let me know I can send you anything you need to stop this guy from taking advantage of anyone else in the future....Business response

*** ******* did purchase a 2009 Mercury Mountaineer with 219k+ miles at the time of sale.
I informed him of every issue that I knew the vehicle to have, as I'm sure his messages will show.
*** ******* was aware that this was an as-is sale and signed the requisite Buyers Guide as well as an additional "As-Is addendum"
We make every effort to ensure that the vehicles we sell are mechanically sound but we also encourage our customers to do their due diligence, test drive and check them over any way they would like, and even take them to their mechanic prior to purchase if they prefer. *** ******* opted to not test drive the vehicle whatsoever or inspect it prior to purchase.
When *** ******* called to advise me of the situation, I offered to either trade him out of the vehicle into something else or to put him in touch with someone who could assist with the necessary repair. Neither of these options were sufficient for him. He advised that he would be contacting his attorney, at which time I was required to cease communication.

He didn't say anything about taking the vehicle back or to having someone look at it or test drive it... He is lieing to you just like he tricked me... He needs to be honest I have the proof saying excellent condition.... He only did say he refused to give me my money back...Business response

Just trying to figure out what the BBB recommends here. We dropped the price of the vehicle from ***** ** ***** +/- .... It's a 15 year old vehicle with over 200k miles. I informed him of everything I knew about it. I'm not sure what I could have done differently here. Just looking for advise.
