I called Steve Huff plumbing to get a kitchen sink snaked they told me they couldn't give me a price over the phone after they showwd up they immediately tried to up charge me 400.00 to replace the trap which had nothing wrong with it. Then informed me the "minimum standard rate for snaking was 500.00 plus the trip charge of 90.00 for a total of 590.28 i felt trapped because they were already there and this was a rental. After about an hour and half of "wandering" per the renter they called me at work to tell me they couldn't fix it and it would cost 800.00 to locate the line and 3 to 5 thousand to fix it as it would require the while line to be replaced and i felt very pressured to do it but since there was no way i could afford it i just told him to leave at which time he informed me i would have to pay him before he left. I ended up calling another plumber who had it snaked in less than 30 min and o ly charged me 250.00 and i formed me there was nothing wrong with the line and it did not need to be replaced!

We have reached out to our client and even though we do not feel there was an adjustment needed we did go ahead and do a partial refund for her. We explained again that we give our pricing up front before any work is started so she is able to make the best decision for her and her family and we do that so no one feels trapped as she stated. Once that price is given if she does not want to go through with the work then she is only responsible for the trip charge. After speaking with the client we deemed this issue resolved.

I signed up for a DIAMOND PLAN with Steve Huff Plumbing over a year ago after they completed a repair at my home. I had to get my home sewer repair completed. While there the service rep gave me information about their Diamond Plan that gave me priority house call scheduling and a 10% discount among other benefits. The rep said it could be canceled at any time and I made a snap decision to sign up, much to my later regret. My husband was fighting cancer and passed away suddenly on April 1, 2023. I called several times to cancel the diamond plan, talking to the office person as well as talking to Steve Huff explaining that I really did not need the plan since I already had home warranty and home insurance. Calling did not work and they continued to draft money from my checking account. I finally wrote them a note telling them to cancel, they continued to draft my account. My bank told me the only way to stop the draft was to close the account and open a new one. It took me about three months to close my checking account out and transfer everything to a new checking account. At that point Steve Huff started sending me monthly bills in the mail. I returned one stating that I did not want this and to cancel it. They are still sending me bills. I am in the process of making an appointment with my lawyer to see what else I need to do to stop this harassment or to see about going through small claims court to stop it. I am hoping that you can help resolve this without me having to take these steps. I no longer call them since it seems as if they are uninterested in resolving and almost think it is funny as they continue to send bills for a service plan I would never use as this point. Can you please help me. I need for this to stop. The monthly bill last month showed 60 days overdue even though I have been trying to stop this plan for a year! I have another bill in my mail box today!

I regret that there has been any miscommunication between us. The agreement you signed up for on 4/7/23 was our Annual Diamond Club agreement. The contract is binding for one year and re-occuring until you let us know that you want to cancel the membership there after. I have attached the agreement that you initialed and signed agreeing to these terms.  We do not show any records of phone calls from you and our office does not have an answering machine that would answer calls on our behalf during normal business hours as you have stated. Since you have completed your 1 year commitment we have canceled your membership with all warranties reverting back to standard warranties and as a courtesy we have adjusted off the invoices for April and May so you have a zero dollar balance. We have also marked your account as "DO NOT SOLICIT" and have mailed you a letter letting you know your account is at a zero balance along with a copy of your agreement for your records.

If we can be of any further assistance please call our office at 423-239-8361.

      Thank you,

      Sandi Grills

This is the first I have heard from you since this complaint was filed when I sent the first registered letter to you through the mail. Everything in the first letter remains true and yes the little secretary did finally give me a call to say they had no record of anything I said in that first letter. Upon sending them and you a second letter she finally sent me a letter to verify they had canceled my "DIAMOND"  plan and that she had also mailed me a letter on May 30th.  I did not get a letter from May 30 which I believe she printed off and mailed in the same envelope that she put the letter to verify cancelled Diamond Membership in. I got both letter together even though she said she had mailed it before. No she had not.

All I can say is that y'all were about as much help as they were. I am recommending everyone that I talk to be sure to read YELP reviews and research this company before doing business with them. They are way more expensive than other companies, they lie, they do not give you hard copies of ANYTHING,  and once they start the work they price gouge you even more in order for them to finish or keep working on the job. This is a very sorry business!

I guess I should thank you for closing this case even though I was never made aware that you opened it in the first place.
