Hello ~02/ 02/ 2023 (Invoice Number ********) ~ Post Hurricane ***. Linear Roofing completed Roofing-Shingle Section plus Low Slope - Labor (Bid item). The grand total was ******** which were paid Upon Receipt. Invoice balance due is $0.00. Another post-hurricane provider was inspecting the roof and took photos of There are hundreds of cap nails that held down the tarp along each side of the ridge of the roof. The best fix is each shingle gets popped off and tar put underneath after the nail is removed.I emailed and texted *************************, Linear Roofing Company Representative, about the concern. I provided the photos as well. There was no response via email nor text. Please see my complaint regarding Southern Roots Construction who placed the emergency tarp to close in exposed roof. Their statement was Silly question but why didnt the roofers remove them when they completed the Roofing.I need to have the nails that they used to secure the tarp, removed. The out of pocket expense to remove the nails is $600.I am not clear whose responsibility it is to removed the nails, Linear Roofing or Southern Roots Construction. I would just like one of the companies to complete the services that were paid for so I do not need to unnecessarily pay out of pocket expenses for the nails to be removed. Thank you for your time,********************* **********************

Southern Roots Construction (please review my compliant plus their response) reported that it was the duty of the company who fixed my roof to remove the nails that were used to hold the tarps in place.

Where to begin. There were quite a few issues. I will start off by stating that they installed the wrong color roof. When the contractor came out, he did not have any samples with him. He gave me two options, shingles like house across the street or keep my same dark grey color. I told him that because my house is multi colored brick, I thought the multi colored roof would look odd. So I said I wanted to keep my existing type. It is even circled in a text message exchange between us to confirm. I am no expert in the names of shingles, the contractor just gave us the name max def weatherwood. I took his word, as long as we both knew it was the same color. Well, once roof installed, noticed the wrong color. His supervisor tried telling me he remembered conversation differently and that I chose the one across the street, yet it is clearly circled in the text message that I wanted my current one. On top of getting the wrong one installed, they did a horrible job. Tore the fascia, drip edge incorrectly installed and they broke the siding. Tried to tell me that the workers wouldn't do that, but once I showed pictures the adjuster took, had no choice but to send someone out and fix. The siding was not replaced, they just covered it up with trim. I also don't like how they ordered extra material and left not one bundle of shingle in the event I need to replace. They too everything including 6 plywoods. Oh, and I was not expecting to pay anything out of pocket, but had to pay almost $4,000 for a 3rd party adjuster they sent out. Never was I told how much to expect to pay. Just that it would be 10% of the estimate. Well, they quoted me at $30,000! After speaking to another roofer, he told me the job should have been half the price. Had I known I'd be getting quoted that much, Ii would never have moved forward with the install. It was such a horrible experience and now they want me to pay the remaining $7000.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/08/22) */ First, we are sorry to hear about the homeowner's dissatisfaction with our work and process. We have reviewed the signed agreement and the listed color of shingle is what was installed. We understand there is a disagreement of the color in question. We can provide a copy of the signed agreement if needed. We would like to be able to come to a reasonable resolution with the homeowner, connecting with the homeowner's preferred method of contact.

The Date of transaction: Thursday, June 23, 2022 @02:52PM. I am intending to file a lawsuit against this company for BREACH OF CONTRACT! I was assured by Brad Barree, Linear Roofing Project Manager that he would be assisting with a New Roof Replacement (via the insurance company's ACV estimate). After, I have REFUSED other qualified roofing contactors, Linear Roofing (Brad Barree) decides to suddenly DEMAND the following day that I/WE pay them $15K or nothing (more than the insurance company's ACV estimate). I have been negotiating with Linear Roofing (Barree) for approximately, 3 month's and have a written contract from Linear Roofing (Barree) on Thursday, June 23, 2022 ("Yes, we can replace your roof"). This business committed to providing us WITH ALL NEW ROOFING MATERIALS (including, added deck), and ALL NEW OTHER MATERIALS. Nature of Dispute: Replacement and All Repairs as detailed in insurance ACV estimated coverage).; Amount of money paid thus far: $0; Account/order/tracking number (Linear Roofing and General Contractors, LLC) File Number: XXXXXXXXXX. Date entered: 04/14/2022.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/29) */ Hello, in review of our CRM, we do not have any signed agreement or contract with any intent to do work for **** *******. Subsequently there is no legal obligation on our part. I hope this helps clarify her inquiry. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) A contract, is a contract rather written on a Linear document or a roll of tissue or a texted message (via their Representative, Bradley B.). Linear and Bradley (in his Official Capacity), have BREACHED contract as of their many response(s). Respectfully submitted, /s/ Ms. *******@11:41AM. Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/07/05) */ Hello, the file presented a scope of work detail and is not a signed agreement to engage in business as a contractor. This scope of work document is similar to what insurance companies present as scope of work once a claim is filed. It is built in a software program called Xactimate, which both many insurance companies and contractors use. Again, we do not have a signed agreement with the homeowner to engage in work of any kind. Thank you. Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2022/07/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Mr. Brad Barree (in his Official Capacity) on behalf of Linear Roofing, is aware of his contracted agreement (via text message's). Because, my phone is private and personal, I cannot submit. However, Mr. Barree, texted me in his official capacity with the understanding, that he would be repairing my/our roof. Yes, the information submitted and attached, is from Brad Barree. I will seek legal counsel, since Linear Roofing is refusing to adhere to Mr. Barree's contracted agreement.

Horrible business. We will be suing them for theft and negligence. They ripped my mothers gate off the fence, forgot to install drip edges, left their tools and trash everywhere, then lied to my mother for months on end about possibly coming back to clean up and finish. You can see piles of leaves built up from how long it's been since they said they would come fix their mess. We are expecting this to go to court because they act like they are not responsible for all the things their company did under a different manager. They are still responsible for coming out and fixing their mistake

After the recent hail storm in our area, Linear roofing left the following notice on my front doorstep: "Please refrain from knocking on our door. We have already selected our roofing contractor. Thank you! LINEAR ROOFING GENERAL CONTRACTORS, LLC NO SOLICITING!" An Andrew Nichols also left his business card in my door. I never had met with or talked to Linear/Andrew. This is the worst kind of false advertising. It is also trespassing (we have a no soliciting policy in my town). Both are illegal. This speaks volumes about the lack of integrity of this company.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/14) */ Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are certainly not in the business of bothering homeowners and your concerns related to our project manager leaving material and information has been addressed. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/03/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The unethical behavior should not show as resolved. They acted unethically and irresponsibly. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/03/25) */ Again, we do not take your concerns lightly. As you can see from our BBB history we have been in business for seven plus years, are fully accredited, licensed, insured, certified and members of multiple local and national roofing and construction organizations. We take all feedback we receive with the intent to recognize the people with the positive feedback and address the issues of concerns. Thank you again for your comments. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/03/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) see my prior explanation.

Linear Roofing Had a roof done in December 2021. Very fast talker at first talked up there business real good. I paid my decidable and extra to upgrade my roof. had gutters installed , when I complained about the amount of money from me and insurance I asked for my stain money and a refund on the 6 packages of shingles they did not use , All went south when they damaged my facia Summit was rude and did not want to admit they did the damage I told him about the one gutter not level he said it was my roof , Mostly he went to my son inlaw about my business , He wanted his father inlaw to fix the facia I was to pay , he does not work for the company , Did not like how Summit talked to me. I told him that I would stain the patio and fence myself but he kept brushing me off, I have tried to talk to someone about this no-one answers the phone, When Summit came to get last check he and another guy just sat in the truck and laughed looking at the house , Very poor customer service .I am a older person and I asked about the staining Summit said it would be a 10% charge , I said the insurance paid for it and I paid for the upgrade on the roof so I wanted the money for that ,They did not do the work and I have to buy the stain there were other things they said they did BUT did not. I feel they took me to the cleaners . I paid the premium I want what is owed to me. To complete the job. It has to be done so I want the money owed me . I feel they owe me $550.00 for the stain and extra (6) bundles of shingles I paid for and they did not use. also for breach of confidence when he took my business to my son-in-law .He had no right to discuss my business with a third party,

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/02/16) */ The project manager explained to the homeowner that our payment comes from the deductible and the insurance money for the RCV on work completed. The homeowner does not pay for any materials, they only pay their deductible to the contractor, by law, and the contractor collects the insurance proceeds for the work done, which covers material, labor and operating costs. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/02/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I was never told the cost up front , I want the money they recieved for staining and power wash for fence and patio, That work was not done and I can not file again with insurance. They did not get a dumpster for trash it was a trailer from a worker. I am begin more then fair . I want $550.00 returned to me. I was told the project manager would call me , twice he has not. Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2022/02/28) */ As an accommodation for the amount of time the homeowner has spent on this concern we have processed a refund to the homeowner in the amount of $550. Consumer Response /* (2000, 12, 2022/03/01) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Thank you so much , For this , It has taken a big burden off I can now complete the work. Again Thank you,

On 5/12/2021 contracted with this company to replace roof. On 7/31/2021 the roof was replaced and payment of 4811.29 and an additional 2259.00 for the deductible was given. Approx two months later Felix the agent who I was dealing with contacts me and says that he needs more information about depreciation and additional work done from the insurance company to close out my account. I figured he should check with the insurance company about his estimates. On 12/09/2021 he contacts me again . I asked him how much more is owed to close out the account since I had already paid him when the roof was installed. He wouldn't give me a answer but wanted me to contact the insurance company . On 12/28/2021 I get a past due notice email from the company but again it didn't mention what was owed. I contacted my insurance company and was told that no final invoice was submitted to them regarding any additional work or payments required for the job. The insurance agent called me back and told me that they were done paying for this job and doubted they would pay for any additional money requested. I then authorized the insurance agent to talk to the roofer. After talking to the roofer the insurance agent called me back and said that two of the roofers employees were let go and I'm guessing they screwed up in submitting requests for the additional work required to remove and replace my solar panels on my roof replacement. My problem is that now they are requesting me to pay 1180.00 For "depreciation", which to me sounds like they want me to pay for what they screwed up in the initial estimate for the roof replacement.

      Business response

      02/01/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/01/17) */ In speaking with the homeowner's insurance company, the requested owned amount for depreciation was released and paid to the homeowner when the first payment was sent to the homeowner. This amount is 1180.74. The depreciation amount is typically released once the work has been complete, however the insurance company stated that in this claim it was already paid out with the other money to the homeowner. This amount is contractually due for work completed and must be paid. Insurance company stated they would call the homeowner and explain the amount was paid to him and is due to us for work completed.
