Not Recommended. A Google "sponsored" attorney should not be used. Whatever your needs, contact the Texas Bar Association to find a trustworthy attorney or legal firm! I've brought a lawsuit against Leavitt & Eldredge Law Firm in Small Claims Court for the following reasons: Failure to provide contracted services, Failure to return phone calls, Failure to respond to an email requesting contracted information and services, Failure to refund payment when notified of issues with the defendant's law firm. Richard Eldredge is very friendly, smooth-talking, and will eagerly accept your money. My interactions with Mr. Eldredge was very similar to what one might expect from an old western “snake oil” salesman. In my humble opinion, he has traded professional ethics for simple greed. After reviewing the other BBB reviews, I believe Mr. Eldredge may respond to this review by stating that he made a “good faith” offer of refunding half my payment because he performed half the work. I.e., that his law firm had created the patent review document and was waiting for a conference call to review it. This statement would be a lie, for there is no record of Mr. Eldredge or his law firm contacting me with any documents other than the receipt of my payment. I have reported Attorney Richard Eldredge of the Leavitt & Eldredge Law Firm to the TBA (Texas Bar Association) as well as the petition described above. I will follow up on this review with the final outcome of each. Good Luck!

This company is a scam. " RUN QUICK"! I am an inventor and I filed my utility patent through Invent Help and when I left that company I found Leavitt and Eldredge. I left one scamming company and I ended up with another one. I transfer my Utility patent over to this law firm and ******* (My attorney) encouraged me to get a design patent, which I later found out that I didn't need. My utility patent was recently GRANTED on Aug. 29th 2023. I had until November 29th to pay the issuing fee before my patent become abandon. I spoke with ******* about payments for issuing fee because he was trying to charge me $600 just for a 15 min phone call and then the $300 for the issuing fees. We came to a conclusion and agreed to charge $600 for everything. I paid $300 on September 1,2023 and Sept. 6,2023 for the remainder $300. His secretary told me it will *********** to 8 weeks for my patent number to come back. ******* and his staff advise me to check on it the beginning of November 2023. I contacted ******* the first week of November and he kept telling me he will look into it. On Nov. 13th I text ******* again about status and he said he will get back to me; Never did. I contacted him on the Nov. 15th and instead of him giving me an update, he wanted me to get my product trademark and he knew I was going to sell it anyway; so I declined. On Nov. 16th, I text him for an update and then I text him and told him I'm about to call the patent office myself because he wasn't giving me any information. ******* kept calling my phone while I was on hold with USPTO and his sectary kept calling as well. Long story ************************** had just made the payment ELECTRONICALLY within the hour. He paid for it on NOV. 16 2023. This company was trying to steal my patent !! He was trying to make my patent get abandon and remind you its holiday time so business about to be closed. After I confronted him and he kept saying the deadline was a week away, but I paid my fees in the beginning of Sept. 2023!!

Paid over 10k in services and I was told that I would no longer receive assistance after 1 year of working on a case. It's painful to spend your hard earned money and not obtain results that are promised to you. I was supposed to be referred to one of their friends (Lawyer) in ******** that could help me close out the case with a simple mailing of a letter and the lawyer in ******** refused to help me because I didn't want to pay a $5k retainer to mail out a letter. I only wanted to pay the fees which was what I was told I would only have to pay. Shortly after I told him that I was told to only pay the fees associated with mailing the letter, the lawyer in ******** stop responding to me. Then this law-firm emailed me, notifying me that they were dropping me as a client because they could not represent me since I'm not a resident of *****. Mind you, this was discussed in the beginning. They were aware that I resided in ********. It's definitely not fair. To top it all off, I'm being electronically harassed to pay supposed "final invoices." I feel so defeated and would have appreciated the upfront honesty. I made sure to always pay them and remain transparent but I guest honesty only gets you so far in this current era. Disclaimer: If you are from out of state, just find a lawyer locally so your money won't be just taken away and you are left disappointed.

Leavitt & Eldredge Law Firm Response

Adebola, please consider that we withdrew representation to save you money, as you were determined to take an expensive path that was not leading you to any reasonable solutions.

First, the 10k you paid in services was for us to draft a lawsuit (not a letter), which you still have ready to file. It should not take much effort for you to find local counsel who can file it, which you insisted that we do even after we told you it was the most expensive and least advisable of several available options. (You still have that drafted lawsuit and can file whenever you secure local counsel.).

Second, we advised that you would need local counsel to file the lawsuit, and even attempted to help you find someone––but they ultimately chose not to work with you, and you declined our requests that you begin looking for someone else.

Third, your bills were stacking up, and we didn't think it was appropriate to charge you merely as the "middlemen" between you and another attorney who would ultimately have had to take over your case anyway.

We regret your disappointment but in parting remind you that there is a much cheaper and effective solution to your problem that remains available to you and recommend again that you seek to pursue that route instead.

I usually do not leave reviews.... but, I wanted to let everyone know what a great law firm this is. Attorney Eldredge got me my first patent. Super excited. The process was easy and I was not charged beyond what was agreed on. No hidden charge. Thanks for your help! Love you guys. **************

Terrible experience. Finalized a document to file on October 27th. Wasn't actually filed until November 15th, 3 weeks later.I was told initially "we don't make out money on these patents, we make our money on litigation!!" Missing a deadline by 3 weeks I would be extremely nervous having these folks litigate anything for me. Total waste of 5 grand. Hired another patent attorney who says this should have been filed as a provisional. Inexperience and lack of attention ignored my needs. Having to re-do the whole thing over again. Very risky to bring your business here.Following up I've just now learned they did not even pay the filing fee. ******* responded to my last review on yelp saying he stands behind the service he provided, yet here we are. What service was even provided? Did not receive my original drawings, nor did I receive a patentability search receipt. An absolute ***** that will scam your money. Stay as far away as possible.
