I think a local team should be available to tenants who do better with in-person communication styles, opposed to remote only employees. The application process appears to be a scam and can turn away potential tenants. I do wish the scheduling for maintenance repairs involved tenant input with their availability in mind. Also, the insulation in my home is very poor causing my air and heat to only reach the room with the thermostat which is disappointing considering Im paying $1600 a month +gas for the heat separately. Im frustrated that there are no utilities included or omitted. I like the space, I like the appearance/curb appeal, and I like the yard + neighborsReview from Laura J

Hands down worst company ever.. house falling down around ** .. major mold, leaks, termite damage.. water damage.. they have known about the issues for 7 yrs now. Comes and half takes care of some issues but uses contractors gound through ********** so they can pay the least amount.. they could care less how sick the tenants are.. they raise rent every year knowing we can't move because we barely have the money to pay the rent that they tack on 500 a month for eviction fees.. just because they want more money.. but here we sit on a house that is literally falling around us... no one want to help everReview from Joshua C

Legitimately the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I'm so thankful I was able to move to another property, I will NEVER consider a property with Main Street again in the future. Throughout the time I lived there, they repeatedly were impossible to get in touch with, slow to respond, and wasted hours and hours of my time on the simplest things. Now I'm stuck in a horrible dispute trying to get back my deposit which they have taken months to get back to me on. They made deductions for items such as carpet cleaning, despite me having it professionally cleaned and providing the receipt exactly as they requested in their move-out paperwork. Every time I call I'm transferred repeatedly and no one can actually help (or more likely, they don't want to). I'm convinced this is on purpose for them to try to get people to give up and scam every last ***** and wasted hour they can out of me.Review from Tamisha L

Mainstreet has been such an easy company to rent from for over 3.5 years. Even when I was in a crunch to locate a home they worked with me to make sure my kids and I werent out in the cold. Anytime I reach out with an issue they respond in a timely manner. I see many complaints about requests not being addressed but thats not been the case for me. Maintenance *** ***** was very organized, professional and knowledgeable. He spoke about the posibilites of what caused the issue and what he would be doing to fix the situation. He took his time and was well prepared. I highly recommend ***** if you want the job done right??.Review from Linda T

I recently rented a home from Main Street Renewal. The home is in good condition, apparently well-maintained. The process leading to its rental was easy. The few times I have called for repairs, the Main Street Renewal repairmen were quick to respond, were knowledgeable, and did the repairs very well. I would recommend Main Street Renewal to anyone who would like to rent a home.Review from Amy T

-1star. On 7/14/24 there was a flash flood from torrential Rains that flooded the home with Category 3 water. Category 3 water is hazardous as it carries unknown bacteria and organisms so it can cause health risks. Requested maintenance right away MainStreet per site there is a ***** hour response time which is unacceptable in a natural disaster. When Mainstreet maintenance came to assess we discussed the damage and they said someone from main office would contact us no one has. We submitted photos, multiple tickets and nothing has ever been done on any maintenance requests. Even with the photos we sent to show the brown/black water the pool company was not notified for almost two weeks that we had the flood or that the pool required maintenance. The pool was not usable for over a month. We paid to have it refilled once all the contaminated water was drained and the pool was scrubbed down and safe. MainStreet has continued to expect us to pay for the pool fee for August when they completely failed to contact the pool service or we do not feel we should be charged for that month they caused a delay in repairs. We have requested to have that fee removed from our statement this has been ignored. Mainstreet has sent several contractors to the house to assess and give estimates, nothing has been done, getting estimates from eight separate contractors youd think one would get the job. Each time weve had to take off from work to be told by each contractor that drywall in all rooms impacted by flood water had to be cut out 2ft up so that the wood in the walls could be treated. Base boards, living room carpet, kitchen, family room flooring would all come out and lower kitchen cabinets as Category 3 water hit those areas. Now 4 months since flood no repairs or resolution and all maintenance requests have been closed. Mainstreet has epically failed the tenants rights. This experience has caused undue anxiety and stress in our daily lives. A very negative experience.Review from Lamarlan O

I honestly and truly cant believe that they asked me to leave a Better Business Bureau review because of the amount of complaints Ive had since the move-in back in September during my first week I had a broken window, no water, and no air amongst other work orders that I have previously placed in the system I still have several that are outstanding, and I have tried to be as patient as possible with them. I understand that the workload may get a little heavy, however, With the amount that you pay and rent that same effort should be offered and completing work orders and even with follow up from upper management. During my first week, I reached out and requested to speak to a manager. Never got a response reached out to my leasing consultant. I was told that somebody from customer care would call me here. We are two months later. Still havent received that phone call was completely displaced from the home several times during the first two months due to no air no water hot water heater going out and the customer cares team has a level of sarcasm that literally makes you want to scream. I get that they only have limited resources and limited ability however, they can still provide empathy and amazing customer service to their consumers when theyre calling to discuss matters such as rent or work orders and stay they simply rush you off the phone and tell you that somebodys gonna call you and they never do if somebody does call you. Its simply the supervisor on the shift for the call center and they come back with a level of sarcasm worse than the normal, customer service reps. *** I known back then how this experience would have gone I probably honestly truly wouldve chosen somewhere else to lease however, I felt like the home and the price point were perfect for me. I just hope that this experience gets better as this lease continues.Review from Katherine B

I have had pleasant experiences while renting with Main Street renewal for nearly 4 years. Recently we had an issue with our HVAC unit. Within two days, we had a maintenance person from the company come out, unfortunately he could not fix the issue. The next day we had a call at 6:15am from a ************ who fixed it within a half hour. I cannot speak for everyones experiences, only mine. 10/10 would recommend anyone looking for a rental to go with them.Review from SamNatasha L

Everyone knows how hard it is to move. Packing finding the perfect home. It's even harder when a resident has a housing voucher. ** Renewal took care of my family. Everytime any repairs are needed they always respond quickly.
