On May 14, 2024 I purchased a plan with Publishing.com to learn how to publish a book. My total cost as of May 15th when I purchased their more inclusive progam and associated publishing costs was $9795. Purchases were made thru Affirm loan numbers:93Z1-D9QA and ATOW-A8DL. I enjoyed the program and finished their 7 Day Book deal and was working hard on my first full length book when my husband fell and fractured his hip. From 7/26/2024 until 10/5/2024 my husband was in and out of the hospital and a rehab facility. Along with his fractured hip, he contracted MRSA. In addition to the 2+ months he was hospitalized/rehabbed, we recently discovered that he has two forms of dementia, both Lewy Body Dementia and Vascular Dementia. He, also, has PTSD, COPD and Afib. Taking care of my husband and his infirmities is now ocuppying my full attention. Whereas, I would have enjoyed completing the program, it is simply not feasible. I contacted the company and requested a refund and their response was to give me an additional month to complete the course. My husband has been home now for a little over a month. His dementia will get worse rather than improve. The ************************ has determined that he is 100% disabled. I am exhausted by the end of each day and do not have the time to make progress in publishing a book. I would like a refund of my expenses rather than extended time offers.Business response

The company uses smart computers to publish books. I paid *********, to join. However before I joined I tried several times to find out if there were any additional charges that would be added during the process of publishing the book. I could never get an answer. I really liked the program and it was always my dream. So because my original price was so high, I figured that must cover all the costs. It also was presented that way. During their presentation they Never mention any additional charges until you have paid you initial money. I joined, only to find out at the end of the training program that it was going to cost me probably more money that my original amount. I immediately asked for a refund. They have completely ignored my request. They have answered my emails, but will never reference my request for a refund. They have completely ignored my requests. I have never used their program. Can you help?Initial Complaint

Purchased ************************************** program January 29, 2024 iao $1,997.00USD/$2,757.72CDN. Prior to this I read over the Terms/Service and noticed their completely reasonable Refund policy should it not work for me. Which was one of the reasons I choose to go with them. I spent the first few months enjoying the academy and learning new things. I was getting disappointed in the quality of output. I even spent an additional $997.00USD/$1,380.74CDN for AI manuscripts, in which came out so robotic I took months to fix on my own time. They offer '************** Guarantee' stated that should I not be satisfied with the program within 365 days of purchase I could opt for a refund IF I created a 25k word book & published on ******, which I did, at an added out of pocket $400+USD. To my dismay and a lot more money spent on advertising, the book did not sell. I have made $0.07 cents to date! I spoke with **** ******** @ Publishing.com and he provided some advise and stated 'should I sill be unsatisfied he would be happy to refund me'. I spent weeks trying to make it work. From August forward this year I have been asking for Publishing.com to honor their Refund policy & provide proof of my work etc as per Terms/Service. I have been ghosted. The company has NOT resolved anything despite me begging. Ads are now popping up all over Instagram and I say STAY AWAY! This company will not uphold their own Policies. Despite many attempts to follow up with **** ******** and Publishing.com all I get it a robotic 'We will get back to you'. To make matters even worse, I requested the honor of ************** Guarantee early August, by August 26th AFTER I made said request, they adjusted their Terms / Service online seemingly to avoid honoring their own policies. I have been left with now complaining to BBB & filing a complaint to ******* for their practices. To date, October 16, 2024 No one has reached out to resolve this nor has Publishing.com honored their promises!Business response

**************************************** **************************************** I watched a video and attended a free online seminar about how to earn money while publishing books that would be sold on ******. I signed up and used ****** Pay-Later to make the payment. At the time, I was unemployed but thought this might work to help me get the extra money I needed. Once you have shown interest, they force you to sign up for orientation meetings by limiting the available dates that you can attend. I signed up on July 2 and was only given three available dates. I was told I could be rescheduled, so I missed the first meeting and asked for a different date. Over the holiday weekend, I spoke with family and friends about the program and was told it was a scam. I decided this was a bad plan for me and called (spoke with ****) on July **************************************************************** the initial video. ****** had already paid *************** and although I have contacted both Publishing.com and *************** I have been unable to get them to speak with me or send me any indication that they are issuing me a refund. I have asked ****** for assistance, but they said that I must dispute this with ************* and copecart-us. I have numerous emails and telephone calls logged (neither business answers the phone, and you leave messages and emails.) I have communicated with **** and **** at *************, but no action has been taken by anyone. I have copies of my emails and can get proof of all calls if needed. I have never used or attempted to use their services. They owe me $1995.00 (****** pay-later loan). I am deeply disappointed with the lack of response and action on this matter. I am 60 years old, and finding a job has been challenging, but getting a refund from this company has rattled my trust in any wfh program.Business response

Hello, I purchased from Publishing.com the ********************* [*********] on 15 SEP 2023 which has a 365 day money-back guarantee. I completed all the individual training and was on the "waitlist" to use the ** software to write/develop book included in my purchase price. The *************** came once I was fully involved, completed individual training, and attended several webinars where it was revealed a monthly membership required to use ** software. On 7 MAY 24, I attended a free bonus Master Publishing ** webinar which now change to purchasing subscription credit(s) to use the ** software to write book(s) at $2000.00 each, or purchase in bundles for a significant discount at $995.00 each per credit. I had an unforseen medical emergency in early July 2024 becoming unable to continue the program at all. I contacted customer support in writing via email (I have compete documentation including my purchase receipt #:1917-2883) on July 23, 2024, to cancel my program and refund the $1,995.00 to the charge card on September 15, 2023. I received and email response from Rose at Publishing.com to call customer service at **************, which I did on 23 JUL 24, 15 AUG 24, and 3 SEP 24, only to wait on hold to then be transferred to voicemail each time with no response each time. Again, I sent email on 3 SEP 24 to cancel my program and refund the $1.995.00. I received a call on 4 SEP 24 from **** at 12:41PM CDT asking me to return his call. I did at 1:05PM CDT on 4 SEP 24, speaking for 8 minutes. **** tried to up-sell me on the ** software credits or even credit me a complimentary ** software credit. I politely declined. I made it clear to cancel and refund (which was within the 365 day deadline). **** told me he would have to get management approval. **** called FRI 6 SEP 24 just prior customer service closing time. I returned call and left message on MON 9 SEP 24 with no response from **** or Publishing.com. I filed *** complaint also on 10 SEP 24 (#:177507214).Business response

When I signed up for their service I had to pay for manuscript credits to write my book. I can also get $500 for getting 50 audiobooks reviews. I later joined a 7 day publishing challenge for $47. During that program they wanted me to join the program I was already part of and offered me 2 free manuscripts and a $1,000 refund for getting 50 book reviews. When I asked to get the same offer on my account they said no. I want them to give me these bonus offers on my account or refund me the $1,995 and the $47 that I paid.Business response

I purchased the publishing program from Publishing.com for $1995.00. Their program included coaching and interaction/help w/ the act of online publishing. To date they have not replied to any of my attempts to contact them for assistance/coaching. I opted to pay for their subscription/services via Affirm with 36 monthly payment of $81.44. Current balance of account is $2,036.22. So as you can see, I'm paying a lot more now for a product that I have never fully received!Business response

Subject: Complaint Regarding Publishing.com/PublishingLife.com Services Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Publishing.com (also known as PublishingLife.com) concerning their inadequate customer service and failure to deliver the promised interactive support for their book publishing program.I enrolled in their program, investing an additional $8,000 with the expectation that I would receive personalized coaching and support while publishing my book. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. The program was marketed as an interactive experience where coaches would provide timely assistance and guidance throughout the publishing process. However, I have been stuck for weeks without any meaningful support. Despite reaching out multiple times, I have been met with excuses about over-commitment and a lack of available coaches. This is unacceptable given the significant investment I made specifically to receive additional help.Recently, when I mentioned the possibility of filing a complaint with the BBB, the company finally scheduled a call. However, each interaction feels like another call paid for without substantial results or assistance. I have simple requests and questions that need to be addressed to move forward with publishing my book, yet I am not receiving the help I was promised. The company's policy states that if a book is published and the customer is not satisfied, a full refund is available. However, it is clear that they are not providing the necessary support to help me through the publishing process, rendering this policy ineffective.I am requesting your assistance in resolving this matter. I seek a full refund for the entire process due to the company's failure to deliver the promised services.Business response

I purchased their on-line AI publishing program on Wednesday May 1st. The contract stated that I had 3 days to cancel my contract. After checking them out on-line I decided to cancel, in writing, as required, the following morning, Thursday May 2nd. I received an email( and I have all these emails) telling me to call ************** and they would help me with the refund. I called several times on Friday May 3rd and left my tel. number and a message. No one returned my call and I have called again today and can't get through, so left another message. In the meantime I have gone back and forth with ****** at ********************** many times about the problem. First she stated it takes 24 to 48 hours for them to return my call. Today she said I should call them again. Of course, no answer. I really feel foolish for falling for this, without checking their reputation first. I hope you can help me get my refund.Thank you *************************Business response

I have attempted to contact their customer service ********************** regarding a refund. They will not email me back. It says I will be contacted within a 72 hour time period. I have sent multiple requests and have not had anyone contact me. There is not another way to reach their company. I paid for their service. I paid an addition 500 to hold my spot for one on one coaching to see if I could come up with the rest of the money. I was not able to come up with the money. I was not requesting a refund for the program but I am expecting a refund for a down payment to hold a place that I will not be able to go forward with. EMAIL:Good morning, on April 3rd I have requested a refund for the accelerator program payment made to hold my spot.
