We hired this company to build a custom deck which originally included a skirt. Our HOA took their sweet time to confirm we were approved to add it and we received a confirmation 1 week after JR completed the deck.. He gave us a $ 488 credit for not installing the skirt. Now, he revised his figure and it will now cost **** to install the skirt. I want an explanation of how he came up with 488 and why he wont accept our offer of $ 995 to compensate him for the additional trip back. I either want a refund to more accurately compensate us for the skirt he did not install or accept our offer of 995 which we feel is fair and reasonable.Business response

I have stated the facts to the customer in a email. I was contracted to build a deck in which skirt was included, before we started the job the customer informed me that his *** had not given him permission for the skirt portion and asked to proceed. Not knowing when permission would be given, I removed the skirting portion from our agreement so we could be paid at completion. I'm sorry he did not get permission in time, but it's not our fault this happened. I have a signed agreement in which it is stated that the skirting was not going part of the deck project which the customer agreed and signed. Secondly the project was completed to his satisfaction and were paid the balance of the agreed upon total. I completed my end of the agreement, a week later I was contacted that the *** had given the okay on the skirting. What the customer does not understand is the added cost for bring my crew back, ordering materials and delivery would cause the price to change, a change that is not of our doing. We did not cause the delay. This could have all been averted if we would have installed the skirting in the first place. I'm sorry this customer is dissatisfied. I would like to say is, in my 33 years of business this is my first and hopefully last complaint.

I am rejecting this response because:He gave us a 488 dollar credit for not doing the skirt and a week later, its now $ 2104. He claims that materials, additional trip etc is the reason for the additional fee.. What do you think ???
