8 years on autopay and never missed a single payment. Talked into refinancing and asked if everything, including my autopay, would be set up exactly the same as before and was told yes. I travel for work, so I do not get my mail. Notices were sent through mail only, warning of a delinquent 30 days. Had 830+ on all three credit bureaus and they dropped to 700's due to this. Disputed three times since 2021, and they refuse to remove it. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act says they have to make a reasonable and honest attempt to let a person know; reasonable in 2021 should have been more than mail-only, considering email, cell phones, apps, etc. It will take me having to take an attorney off retainer and *** them for results, which costs money and time. Caliber and Newrez are the same company. They knew I wasn't at home because the refinance paperwork was notarized and signed in a different state. I would not recommend doing business with these people.

Caliber Home Loans was acquired by Newrez, and now Newrez has no record of *********** loan is now being serviced by another company, but I am trying to get tax documents from Caliber for the period of tax year 2023 that they were servicing the loan. They have no record of my loan, and tax documents are not available, although the website says they are. I've called every number that Caliber has, and they all lead back to Newrez. Newrez says that I don't have a loan with them and they don't have any of Caliber Home Loans records. Ironically, I can still log into the Caliber portal, but updated documents are not available. So what happened to the folks that worked at Caliber when they were acquired? Did they just evaporate, along with their records....This activity should be illegal.

Just got a letter stating my 2022 property taxes havent been paid despite it being included in escrow. The cherry on top is our fire insurance almost cancelled ** because this garbage company never paid them so we had to pay for the insurance that again was included in escrow and now apparently our property taxes as well. What a trash can of a corporation.

I guess another company has bought Caliber out. I'm trying to speak with someone about a refund I'm waiting for from the sale of my home and I have no way of talking to anyone. Their phone system is set up so only people with accounts can access it. There is no **************** email or phone number. I've been trying for weeks to get a hold of them to no avail. I tried going through Newrez, the company that bought them out. I still can't get anyone. I'm pretty resourceful and my next step is to randomly reach out to a Caliber employee on LinkedIn. I'm also going to contact my Congressman to alert him of the situation. They have a A+ BBB rating posted on their website. I can't believe that's the case.

Do NOT work with Caliber home loans. They will get the loan completed and then are a nightmare to deal with.I bought a home with them in September of 2021 and decided to escrow through them. May of this year, I began receiving letters from attorneys saying they were going to be placing a lien on my home due to unpaid taxes. I called Caliber and they submitted an "investigation" to find out what happened. After several days, a supervisor called me back and said that the taxes were not paid in full and it is my fault because I received the tax bills- granted she was able to log in to the County Appraisal district to see the outstanding balance and partial payment that had been made. They wrote the loan on the house, they have access to see the balances and payments on parcels- did they not know how much the taxes were?I had to pay thousands of dollars in late fees that they refuse to help with, which of course made my escrow account even more negative. Due to their oversight, my monthly mortgage payment is now over $1,400 more per month. NONE of this was communicated, I had to find out by logging into my account. Upon reviewing our escrow account, we also found that they had mailed a large check from our escrow to an incorrect address. Once it was verified that the check had not been deposited, we asked if they could re-deposit into our escrow and they said now. We then asked them to resend the check to the correct address, and our request was "cancelled" by their team multiple times. After several phone calls and way too much of my time was spent, we finally were able to get the request approved. It took months for us to get the money back from them. Now I am trying to close my escrow and it is become an even more painful process. I don't know if it is because they were recently taken over by NewRes or if they were just trying to get a loan, but the experience with Caliber has been drastically different and disppointing compared to the home purchasing process.

Since they have forged with NEWREZ, my statements and amounts have been INCORRECT.The customer service is an oxymoron. It takes at least 10 minutes to speak to an agent. The agents are obviously also frustrated with their own company, because they frustrated and condescending to the clients. After 45 minutes to an hour, they usually still cannot get the account corrected or rectify the situation. I have reported this to the Federal Home Loan commission. When it was Caliber, it was fine.

So we have been getting these certified letters from Caliber Home Loans, Inc. telling us that we have been sent to collections for defaulting on our home loan. One letter wasn't certified, but 5 of them were. Some were sent directly to me, some directly to my husband, and some to The *******. So the back story is that our loan used to be owned by Caliber at one time, but then sold to another company. We paid off our house last year. When we called, the automated system told us that we still owed about $150. When we called the company last week, they told us that the letters were sent out to a bunch of people by accident and to disregard them. We kept getting notifications in the mail, but even when we signed them and left them in the mailbox, the mailman wasn't allowed to leave the letters because we had to be present to receive them. So we went the the post office today and they gave us 5 letters, all the same message. We called Caliber again and they said to just disregard it. I specifically demanded a letter stating that this was all a big mistake and/or at least put it on their website so that people have some sort of recourse and peace of mind, but NOPE! The agent said that they would not do that and that we just have to take their word for it. I am ****** OFF that they made such a crazy mistake and won't even send out official letters to everyone with an apology and an official statement saying that it was a mistake and that we will NOT be sent to collections. I mean, GEEZ, they certainly took the time to send out false letters, so why not an apology and explanation? NOT GOOD, Caliber Home Loans, Inc.Has this happened to any of our friends out there?

actually 0 - I'm surprised some of the reviewers actually got the phone number to work. I've called many times, different days, different times, then finally send a message. Each time I've tried to call I get " your message cannot be completed at this time please try again later". In the response they claim they have a high call volume and gave me the same number which I tried after reading the message - same number under contact us on the website and still the same "call cannot be completed". You cannot contact them in any reasonable amount of time or actually get a representative on the phone. Bad decision & will refinance elsewhere.
