I was contacted on September 3rd regarding a collection. They wouldn't say who the debt was for and asked if I have different types of cards until I confirmed one. Since the 3rd they have taken out almost 1k from my bank I. Unauthorized charges. They contacted me yesterday saying if I paid another $170 then the case would be closed. After I had paid the $300 we agreed on to close the case. That's when I got suspicious. When pressed for documentation "*****" started screaming at me and then hung up. He called back threatening me and continued yelling. I made a complaint with the ***. When looking at my account over the past few years they have scammed me in over $2100Initial Complaint

They called say they was going to take my husband to court so we called back they was trying to say we had to pay 600 dollars then we called the loan people and other people they all said that it was not 600 then they said fine to do the ****** but the next day they try taking 600 for a other loan that my husband never did this company is not a real company there address is a PO box lawyer don't have a PO box for there address and after we talked to them about the 600 they never did call back I did call my bank and trying to get that money backInitial Complaint

This was an attempt to collect from a payday loan from 25 years ago. I did authorize a couple of payments due to threats from company they would sent to courthouse even though they could not produce any proof of that i owed on this loan. Since then, they have debited my bank ************* card without authorization. I would like to make you aware of these scammersWright and Payne.Business response

ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS SHE HAS CALLED IN TO UPDATE HER CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. I had a debt that I settled with this company in May 2023 for ******. The debt was settled and no new obligation from the original creditor. Today, October 3rd additional funds (410.00)were taken out of my account, when I reached out to address this withdrawal I was told this was their fees for settling the debt. I was NEVER informed about an additional payment that would be withdrawn 5 months later. This is completely unacceptable.Customer response

I was told that I would receive a refund of the un-approved withdrawal on my account within 10 days. I have NOT received anything. In fact, I have been hung up on and now she will not answer my phone call. This is NOT a business. There is no voicemail stating the name of the company. There is only a personal cell phone. This so called business needs to be shut down or she will continue to steal money from other hard working people. I will not let this go.Business response

DEBTOR WAS CONTACTED ON OCT 2ND AND ADVISED SHE HAD ANOTHER DEBT IN OUR OFFICE. SHE GAVE DEBIT CARD INFO AND WAS TOLD TO PROCESS ON THAT PARTICULAR DAY, AND IT WAS THAN OUR OFFICE RECEIVED A CALL FROM DEBTOR STATING SHE DIDN'T AUTHORIZE PAYMENTCustomer response

I was never contacted on October 2nd and told that I had an additional bill to pay. I called when I noticed that money was taken out of my account. I had settled a debt in May and was told it was paid in full. When I reached out to the company and asked why I was charged in October, I was told it was fees from the account I paid off in May. I have provided the paid in full letter that I received in May. I NEVER agreed to pay anything in October. In fact when I called in October, I was told I would be refunded within 10 days and then I was hung up on. I have the recorded conversation when I was told I would receive a refund in 10 days.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I was never notified or agreed to have charges withdrawn from my account on October 2nd. I called the company when I noticed a withdraw from my account. I questioned the charge and I was told it was from the additional fees after I paid my debt off in May. I included the letter that stated I paid in full in May with no further obligation. I can also provide a bank statement with the charges that were withdrawn for the exact amount to Wright & Payne. I also recorded our conversation in October. While I recorded, I was told I would receive a refund within 10 days but not to call them back until it had been 10 days. I was then hung up on. I have called multiple times since then and no one will answer the phone. This is not a legit business.Customer response

I was contacted about a debt in April and started a payment plan for 50 dollars, twice a month. I told them when I get paid and they have started taking the payments before the 1st and 16th (my pay dates) and keep taking out more than the agreed upon amount claiming ******************************* fees. Every time I speak with them, we both get frustrated, I reiterate my pay dates, the say okay and hang up. I informed my bank of fraudulent charges and they returned some of it, but the charges keep coming out.Initial Complaint

this company claims to be collecting for a past due pay day loan called cash call.. they took funds from me once after I did a settlement then i made an arrangement to pay in august. Friday july 29th they went in my account an took 136 out with out my permission . Now I have been calling them and cant get now one to fix this issue . I don't know if this is a scam or not. If there is such a bill it is past 7 years old Please advise . the company goes under the name wright and payne consultants .Initial Complaint

I was contacted by Jason B**** at Wright & Payne repeatedly saying he was attempting to settle debts for past overdue payments. I authorized numerous charges to my credit card over the past several months. I am now continuing to receive charges to my credit card that I have not authorized. I have been unable to receive any information from the company as to why this is occurring. I have begun to dispute the charges.
