The contract involved for renting the event center included 2 police officers at 325.00 each and a licensed bartender and a DJ. We signed the contract in March for the event to be held on 12/19/21 Unfortunately, we do not have proof that the adult serving the alcohol was licensed but his lack of knowledge was evident and the two police officers never showed. Our event was from 3pm to 11pm and alcohol and liquor was served to the guest. It wasn't until my brother brought it to my attention that he asked the bartender for ID, then we soon realized that the two police officers never showed up as stated in the contract. Now today, the owners are claiming that they paid for officers but they weren't sent because our event was ending at 11pm? The owners are refusing to return our deposit and refunding the 650.00 for the two officers that didn't show. They refuse to answer my calls. They have responded to only a couple of text messages and I can not leave them a message because the business number does not have voicemail set up. The DJ they included in their contract would not communicate with us either. After many attempts he finally responded. Only to claim on the day of the event 12/19/21 he never received the play list or program of events. The start time was delayed because the DJ had to write down everything that had be previously emailed. He had no information regarding the event of the persons involved. We made several attempts to meet the DJ but he was never available or didn't respond so were were reduced to simply emailing and texting. It is my understanding and belief that these owners simply contract the event center to make money but then do not follow through with what was promised as stated in the contract. The disregard is quickly evident once money is exchanged. Currently I am waiting for a response regarding the deposit and refund of the two officers that were a no show.
