Back in 2019 we purchase solar from this company. It's has been been good reducing our monthly and annual payments to pge. We are looking to replace our roof and was told that sunfinity would remove and reinstall panels for a roof replacement. They will not answer the phone or call back voicemails. They don't answer emails or reviews. This company is starting to feel more like a scan and the cost for removing and reinstalling panels is really high if you don't use your solar installer. I don't know what to do in this situation. ***** office in ********** is gone and the Texas office just ignores it's customers.Initial Complaint

I have been trying to get in touch with someone at Sunfinity Solar for over 6 months. No one answers the phone or returns calls. Today we went to the office at ************************************************************************** and the office was vacant. I do not believe my solar panels are working properly and I just want someone to come out and take a look.Initial Complaint

I have had issues with the company since the solar panels were installed 7 years ago. The monitor panel placed inside the home was attached to emergency heat only by the panel installers resulting in my electric bill being 3 times what it should be during the winter months. I reported it to Sunfinity and was only told there wasn't enough data to investigate. The error was only discovered by a licensed a/c repair company when I attempted to turn on the a/c in the spring and it blew hot air. The company has never compensated me for this mistake. I eventually just stopped trying.I am now attempting to sell my residence and want the company to come service the panels which are still under warranty. I have sent numerous emails and left at least 10 voicemails over the last three weeks and have not gotten one single returned phone call or email reply from anyone at the company.Initial Complaint

We had Sunfinity install our solar system in 2020. It has worked so far until May 2023 when it stopped reporting data to the Enphase cloud. Because of this our electricity provider does not know how much energy our system is producing and therefore cannot provide a credit on our bill for this generation. In this extreme heat, we have been using more electricity as usual so our bills are much higher than expected because of this missing credit.I tried contacting Axis Solar who are listed in the enphase App. They told me that they were the sub-contractors for our install and that I should contact Sunfinity. I have tried calling Sunfinity multiple times and left voicemails but nobody replies. Any ideas how I can get through to them to come out and take a look at my system to diagnose the problem?Initial Complaint

Bought 31 panels from Sunfinity on Oct 2018. Happy then with install and have been happy with system until now. Had hail storm on Feb 2022 and finalized estimate with insurance company for roof replacement which we are planning for Sept/Oct 2022 when temps come down. The 31 panels need to be uninstalled for roof replacement and reinstalled again. I contacted my sales person Jason ****** who provided David ********** info and asked me to text him. I texted David. He responded quickly and he provided me with a company who has provided me with a quote, but they are a one-man shop. I asked David for a few more referrals of companies that Sunfinity recommends and works with and also for a confirmation that any warranty will remain and upheld on the panels since I am using their recommended contractors. David requested my address/address of the panels and I provided that info immediately. This was on July 18th. I texted a reminder on 7/21, 7/26, and finally 8/3. David has refused to reply back at all with any update or any info since then. I went ahead and e-mailed other contacts in Sunfinity (Jonathan *****, Jeff ******, Ryan *****, Jason ******, Samantha **********, Stephen ******* and Josh *******) who had worked with me back in 2018 with install on 7/27/22 expressing my concern that David was 'ghosting' me and requesting that a few more contractor names be provided to me and that a confirmation on warranties be also provided to me. No reply via e-mail either. I sent a reminder on 7/29 and finally 8/3. I also called the main office on 8/2 and left a message as no one seems to be answering. I even called this morning. I had explained on 8/3 via text to David and via e-mail to larger audience that I would be filing this complaint with BBB if I did not receive a connect or reply by Friday 8/5/22. I am disappointed and a bit angry to be treated this way after spending 27K+ with a company. And to think I was also thinking of adding more panels to system.Business response

Hi, We bought our house in 2020 with a solar system from Sunfinity. I have been trying to get an appointment with a technician from Sunfinity to install a new microinverter. Last time I've heard from Sunfinity was on 3/31/21, since then they have been ignoring every single phone call, voicemails and emails. I don't know what to do anymore but I have never experienced a company ignoring their customer for this long. Sincerely, ***** *****Business response

We signed a contract with Sunfinity in May 2018 to provide our home with solar and a battery backup system. After the a couple false start due to wrong panels being ordered and wrong solar design being submitted to the City of Brentwood, CA, our solar array and battery backup was installed. When we signed the contract it was with the understanding we would be able to utilize the battery to both peak-shave (off-set energy costs) as well as have a battery backup should we loose power. They installed the system and battery as a backup only system saying we could not do both peak shave AND backup. This is NOT true, we CAN do that if Sunfinity had paid an electrician to reconfigure our power panels. All the system can do is act as back up And last night we found out that doesn't work either. We lost power at approximately 7:15 PM last night. Instead of the battery back up system jumping into action, it showed error after error while everything on the back panel kept flickering and surging. The system failed! As of now, the system is producing power and we are not able to use it due to "communication" errors between the battery and inverter. NOTHING worked and it is still not working. We have been emailing various people at Sunfinity for years asking them to fix our system and to this day it remains defective. We also received a Recall Notice from LG for the battery. It needs to be replaced due to a fire hazard. We have heard nothing from Sunfinity. We are very upset the system we purchased from Sunfinifty is not functioning correctly and they have made little to no attempt to fix it. As we have stated to Sunfinity, if they cannot make the system perform then we want to return the battery for a full refund. Paying 9K to have something continually fail and we are left to manage seems wrong. Finally I am attaching an email string that clearly shows all communication between the ******* family and Sunfinity. Please advise. Thank you. (XXX) XXX-XXXX or (XXX) XXX-XXXXBusiness response

I had rooftop solar installed by Sunfinity in 2016 with the promise of a 20 year warranty. My system is now producing electricity only intermittently. Calls to Sunfinity are *never* answered and voice mails are *never* responded to. After finding an email address, I finally got an email response last week saying that they've contacted a local technician who will in turn contact me, but I've heard nothing, even after multiple additional emails. I paid cash to own the system outright and it appears that Sunfinity has taken the money and ran.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 24, 2022/06/14) */ Sunfinity operations made a service call at this customer's residence in April. At that time, it was found that the customer's system was performing as normal after removing a tree and reworking connections at the inverter and j-boxes. Consumer Response /* (3000, 26, 2022/06/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The service technician saw the same Fault indicator that I saw and believed I need to have the inverter replaced. This is due partly to the Fault indicator and partly due to his belief that the current inverter has too low a threshold and will not produce at all under some circumstances even when it's technically working. In addition, I just happened to walk past the inverter this morning and noticed that it was in the process of an apparently spontaneous reboot. Perhaps this is normal, but it's not something I've previously seen. If Sunfinity truly believes that I have nothing to worry about, it would have been nice if they had told me directly rather than leaving me hanging for over two months. I paid well over $20,000 cash to own this system with the understanding that I wouldn't need to worry for 20 years, which has proven not to be the case.
