I havent lived at the address in 12+ months due to a divorce, but they will not remove me from the lease. *** tried to follow their steps to be removed, but the other party is refusing to submit the necessary paperwork which is preventing my removal. The other partys consistently late & incomplete payments is affecting my credit and ability to get my own housing.Business response

I have three points to my complaint: 1. Goal Properties rented me a house in December 2021 for one year. The back yard was immediately found to be unsafe because the fence was in such disrepair that the neighbor's German Shepherd could walk through the holes in the fence creating a safety issue for my family and my pets. Goal Properties refused to correct the issue and they incorrectly cited the neighbors owned the fence. Everyone knows fences on property lines are jointly owned by both parties. The neighbors told me they offered to pay for half the fence if the owners of the property I'm renting would pay the other half. Goal Properties refused and created an unsafe environment for my family and pets. Due to this I had to pay $2,750 to install a chain link fence inside the perimeter of the dilapidated wooden fence. I request to be made while again and have Goal Properties reimburse me my $2,750. 2. Goal Properties is in the midst of threatening to charge me for two missing window screens. The screens were missing when we moved in. In no way should we be responsible for replacing screens that were never there when we moved in. Additionally, Goal Properties does not publicize a working telephone number, so I have zero recourse in the matter short of filing a BBB complaint. 3. Lastly, there was shoddy work done prior to our lease to prepare this property for renting. Specifically, the painters hired by Goal Properties did not use primer before painting, so paint is peeling in several areas. Also, the grass in the front and back yard was dead when we moved in. This is unacceptable and needs to be corrected.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/18) */ Goal Properties finds the feedback from Mr. ***** ******* to be contradictory to prior email communication attached as documentation. Mr. ******* was aware Goal Properties was not responsible for the repair to the fence. The section of the fencing in question was on the opposite side on the neighbor's property. Mr. ******* sought out permission to purchase wire fencing from Lowes to secure a desirable enclosure in the backyard. Goal Properties provided our approval in doing so. In the documentation you will also find additional requests made by Mr. ******* that is all clearly expressed to be purchased at his expense. Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback to this submission. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/04/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Goal Properties response only addressed 1 of my three points. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/04/20) */ In reference to the additional points of the BBB Complaint, Mr. ******* was mistakenly asked to replace a couple of missing window screens from a HOA violation. Goal Properties acknowledged to Mr. ******* this was an oversight as it was not his responsibility to replace, and those screens have been ordered for installation at the property at no cost to him. Goal Properties clearly has contact information on our website for each market our properties reside in. Mr. *******'s property management office is in the Dallas office. The contact number for this office is (214) 814-9011. In addition, the welcome letter sent on December 7th, 2021 lists the name and email address of his property manager, maintenance manager, and regional vice president of the Dallas market. Goal Properties always provides multiple channels for our residents to conveniently communicate with us even through their personal resident portal. Records show that Mr. ******* elected to communicate via email with his property and maintenance managers attached in the original Goal Properties response. Mr. ******* can always email his property manager to schedule a call request. Any additional areas of concern as it pertains to maintenance are always addressed with initiation of work orders by way of the resident. Again, thank you for the opportunity to provide final feedback to this submission. Consumer Response /* (2000, 11, 2022/04/21) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
