Since 2016, the evaporator coil has been replaced 4 times (8/26/16, 8/17/20, 5/20/22, and 7/19/23) all due to leaking. In between the replacements, 4 service calls were made (3/12/19, 4/18/22, 3/27/23, and 7/10/23) because the a/c had frozen, due to leaking in coil. In all, the labor and freon has cost over $1500, for which I have all of the receipts. The coil is covered under warranty but it does not cover service work, which I understand, but since it continues to be a defective problem with this particular model (model # **-8G-4D-OP), I feel like financial compensation should be awarded. If this was a one time problem, then that would be fine, but this seems to be an ongoing problem that is costing me large amounts of money, which I don't have a ton of to waste on something that is not worth all of this hassle, not to mention the inconvenience of having a home that is 94 degrees every time the coil freezes, plus I have to find somewhere else to stay until it is repaired, which by the way, I have to continue to miss work to meet with the ac repairman. I am very frustrated and I feel like the frustration will continue, because track record for this product is not good, and I know it's a matter of time before this happens again and again and again.
