Last year 2023, I decided to use Careington International for the Dental plan in *********, but immediately I had to cancel the dental plan because the Dental Office did not accept Dental plans at all to have my braces to be purchased and then placed on.November 2024, there was an unauthorized transaction from my new debit card.A new account was open in my name and I knew it could not have been me because I had to pay out of pocket for my braces and *********'s Ortho Donot take Dental Plans.I called Careington International and found out a second account was opened in my name, but my date of birth was not matching and an address was not present So this company is Reopening Old accounts and and having consumers Pay for plans they are not using.An Automatic Stop Payment from my bank, **** was initiated and I decided to write a review, so that other consumers can be More ***** about this company's tactics.Currently No ember 2024,Review from LM M

Dont use Careington. Dentist sent them what the bill was going to be. My part was $2,700. Today dentist office called and said that Careington refused to pay over $500. No more than they paid i would have been better off not buying insurance from them.Careington International Corporation Response

Thank you for brining your concerns to our attention. You purchased a Cigna Flex Dental, Vision and Hearing policy. Careington Benefit Solutions is the contracted Third Party Administrator to process claims and is required by law to pay according to the insurance policy. We have reviewed the claims submitted and they were paid correctly based on the policy. If you have concerns with the insurance policy please contact Cigna at ************.Review from Peter I

Dental plan is terrible. Paid for one year in January 2024 for dental coverage. They said my dentist participates. Went to dentist today. They do not accept. Careington web site still says as of April 30 that they do.Spoke to Careington today and requested refund. After being passed from person to person for more than an hour, they refused to provide refund.A total ripoff!Careington International Corporation Response

Service is awful! If they pay at all they don't pay timely. The card even had the wrong address to submit claims to! Once they denied my claim for a dental cleaning saying it has to be 6 months since the last one. It had been 8 months!! So no one can count over there? And they pay only a percentage of what they approve, which is very, very little. Worst insurance company ever!Careington International Corporation Response

This company's customer service is the worst I've ever experienced when it comes to processing claims, especially Hearing claims. I've been waiting for 5 months. I've submitted this claim 3 times due to incorrect forms being provided by their customer service. Each time I spoke to a different person I would get a different response regarding the proper form to use. Most of their employees are not very knowledgeable about the company. This company has a multitude of different plans/names so it is very confusing. This time I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told they are backlogged on emails and that is why they haven't processed it. She said FAX is better, but who has a FAX at home? I would drop these clowns in a second, but you have to pay in the 1st year and you only receive a % of the full benefit.Careington International Corporation Response

I am still awaiting reimbursement from Careington. I had a list sent to me of providers in my area. The ones I called no longer except it. So they said I could do out of network, and they would reimburse me. I filled out the first set of forms and never heard anything. They said it could take 30 to 45 days. So I waited that long and called them back. They said that they never received it. So, I sent a registered letter for them to sign, with all the info on it.So I waited another 30 to 45 days. Nothing. So I called Back again, they said that there was info missing. So I talked to the lady, and she said if I go to the dentist, and have them fax their info and identification numbers that itll go quicker. So, I did that. I waited again. I called back, and they said that they did not have the Dentist info. So I said, can I talk to the people that approve these claim forms or a manager. They said no, that they didnt have the phone number as far as calling. They said I could email them. So I did. Nothing. I told them that I was told, if I faxed it, it would go quicker. But they said no its another 30 to 45 days again.!!!So now its the end of Dec. These two offices do not communicate with each other. The ones that approve it, and the ones that look it up for you. Which is absolutely ridiculous.!!!This has been going on since the end of August. They are trying to tell me they didnt receive anything until October something. Which is ridiculous, because I filed it right away, and according to them info was missing. So this is about the third time that I have sent the Dental information. I show they signed for the letter and I have proof they received it. I would like to know when they are going to reimburse me. It is hundreds of dollars and I need it back. This is no way to run a company. Someone should be right on these claim forms and letting you know right away if theres a problem. Refund please.!!!!! I want ***** back I could not use savings plan at any of the places I had gone to or planned on going to because they dont take it or if they did they no longer do. I found this out when I went to get a procedure done and they still refuse to refund all only refunded ****!!!! They scam people out of ***** for crappy service. I paid $99 for a discount, my dentist could not use it and after 1 1/2 months they gave me a refund of $66 and kept the rest, 1/3 of what I paid.******.Careington International Corporation Response

With the plan you purchased access to discounts are only available at participating providers, and you should always refer to the list of participating providers to ensure a provider you want to see is in the network with your plan. Yesterday I noticed a charge from Careington on one of my credit cards. I have never heard of this insurance company and did not sign up for their insurance. I don't know how they got my credit card info, but I contacted my credit card company, and they will cancel the charge. Because of this fraudulent charge, I had to close my account and a new card must be issued. I now have the pleasure of updating the credit card info on my legitimate recurring charges.
