Kilker Roofing promised to replace the roof of my home after hail storm in April 2023. The promised repairs included replacing the chimney cap and removing/replacing a backyard gazebo. After repeated requests for the promised work to be completed, ***** Kilker told me: 1) he went on a 2.5 week trip to celebrate birthdays. Said he would wrap up the claim on 8/8/23 2) he will get the chimney cap scheduled ASAP and he wanted to know the gazebo I had chosen (already provided to him, but I provided it again on 8/18/23.I requested an update on 8/25/23 no response I requested an update on 9/2/23 he says he ordered the gazebo 9/8/23 ***** Kilker said the chimney cap guy would be at my hour in 20 minutes; the sub contractor had gone out of town, an emergency9/2/23 I requested an update. ***** Kilker said hed be ready to roll next week. He entire family had COVID 10/14/23 ***** Kilker said hed be ready to roll next week. Still no chimney cap. 10/14/23 I asked ***** Kilker if he wanted me to purchase and install the gazebo myself. He says he had it ready for delivery. Hes had lots of health issues latelyNo further communication.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: I contacted the vendor ***** Kilker of Kilker Roofing on 1/20/24 requesting he complete the job. He never responded to my text message. He still needs to provide a chimney cap, as was outlined in his quote.Business response

Understood, scheduling now. Keep in mind there is still one more payment coming from the insurance company. I understand and will get it scheduled to be replaced ASAP. Then, hopefully we can get this settled out.Customer response

From May 2020 until November 2020, this company worked repairing hail damage to our property at 313 S East Street, Orangeville, Il. We encountered numerous issues with this company during this time. To sub-industry standards of work, to no one showing up for sometimes a week at a time and leaving gaping holes, to my husband having to take multiple pictures and send to Mr ***** ****** to get those items fixed. We sold the home in November of 2020 and the new owners are now experiencing a massive mold issue due to the large main part of the roof not being done correctly. They have had 4 contractors in to look at it and all have agreed that the roof was done incorrectly. After Mr ****** had an initial conversation with the new home owner, who said we were the problem and said we did not pay his company over half of the amount owed, Mr ****** has not provided us with requested names and licenses numbers of those he sub contracted with. I have sent him numerous emails regarding the requested information. He has chosen to not communicate with us any further.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/04/19) */ The consumer who is requesting a refund is no longer the owner of the property where the allegedly defective work was performed, and has not paid the entire balance due to Kilker Roofing under the contract. While concerns were noted by the homeowner as to subcontracted work during construction, these matters were immediately addressed with the subcontractor and corrected during the construction process. No notification was received by Kilker Roofing of any defects in the completed construction prior to the consumer's sale of the property. We have repeatedly reminded the consumer that our express written warranty does not pass to subsequent owners of the home, and that we can not honor demands from a former homeowner relating to a property they no longer own. We have refused requests to provide contact information for subcontractors as this information is simply not relevant given the absence of a claim.
