My husband received this text from the tenant on Monday, December 18, 2023 around noon " The heater does turn on but does not give hot/warm air". My husband called **** around 3 pm, let him know about the heater problem and texted him the address and phone number of the tenant. My husband then texted the tenant, let her know that **** will contact her about the heater and gave her ****'s phone number.Later **** called my husband, I was next to him, **** told us that he found the heater installed in the wrong direction and he already put it back to the right direction. He also said that he needed to order the parts. I asked him what is the quote. He said he will let me know tomorrow after he found out about the price of the parts. On Tuesday, December 19, 2023 **** called my husband and said he couldn't find the parts. My husband gave me the phone and I asked him about the quote. He answered around $700. I was shocked because the charge was too high. I asked him what is the price of the parts. He said around $300. I didn't think that I could afford that high charge so I asked him if he stopped now then how much I had to pay. He said $290 which included $50 service call and two hour that he spent to re-install the heater ($120 per hour therefore $240 for two hour).My question is **** supposed to let me know the problem with the heater before he started to work on it? I talked to the tenant, she think the time **** stayed over at the duplex is around 15 minutes to 30 minutes, not two hours. I asked her was the heater working fine last year during winter, she said yes. That made me questioning how come the heater worked last year if being installed in wrong direction? Furthermore, I always asked professional Heating and Air Conditioning man for service.Would you help me and **** resolve the subject issue.
