We contracted with Cornerstone Roofing and Remodeling in April 2024 to replace our roof and complete other hail damage repairs authorized by our home insurance claims adjuster. One of the primary reasons we chose Cornerstone is their stated ability to complete all of the insurance repairs. Our roof was replaced in June 2024, and we are very pleased with the outcome. We promptly paid Cornerstone for insurance deductible and the roofing upgrades we selected. In addition, Cornerstone requested that we pay them what insurance paid us. This resulted in us paying the Actual Cash Value (ACV) for the roof and all other authorized repairs. Our motivation in filing this claim is to hold Cornerstone accountable for completion of all items remaining on the insurance claim. The file I attached lists the specific repairs authorized by our insurance company, as well as the completion status of each. I've had multiple communications with the Cornerstone *******, and reached out to the owner last month, but have not received a response or any confirmation that remaining work is scheduled. We have asked Cornerstone to provide a quote to paint the whole exterior of the home and to contact insurance to have the claim increased accordingly, due to concerns with trying to match 20-year-old paint. That decision impacts a few of the remaining items. Further, the claims adjuster included the wrong size garage door, so we need Cornerstone to contact insurance for that change, as well.We have enjoyed working with Cornerstone but are not willing to continue waiting for the remaining work to be completed without any recent progress or communication. We cannot even pay Cornerstone the balance due on the roof until they submit evidence to insurance that the work was completed. Further, some of the *** amounts already paid to Cornerstone are for work that hasn't been started so we would like to have the claim updated and all repairs completed **** so the claim can be resolved.Business response

Mr. *****,
I have called your insurance claims department again just minutes ago. They have switched the file to another adjuster (which is a common occurrence in this process) and I've asked for him to contact me in regards to the items you've mentioned. We can not guarantee that the insurance will agree with any of your requests. All we can do is ask. I will address this with the new adjuster and request a conference call with you and him so that we can all be on the same page. I am supposed to get a call back within 48 hours because the new adjuster is out today (10/15/24). We want to wrap this up as well due to the fact that we are still owed money for the work that we've completed. at a minimum, we will get the insurance to release those funds so that we can settle up on what we are owed at the moment while we wait on their review of your requests.
