On Jan. 16, United Fire provided a service call to my house. After initially providing incorrect information regarding how to drain the system, a technician arrived, turned off one valve by hand, placed a hose on the drainage spigot, turned it on and left shortly thereafter. I was shocked to receive an invoice for $335 for what amounted to about 5 minutes of work I could have done myself. The charge is excessive, and I immediately asked for clarification and an adjustment in an email sent to the company on January 23. My email states,"I do appreciate the assistance, but this charge seems extremely high. As the invoice states, the tech showed up, turned a bottom valve with his hand, attached a hose, and turned on the spigot. That was it. I was grateful for the knowledge, but I could have easily done all of this myself in roughly 5 minutes. $335? Can we please lower the charge"I never heard back from the billing department. Subsequently, I spoke with an employee named ****** and agreed to have the system tested to determine if there were any leaks or breaks in sprinkler pipes after a hard freeze. I was quite explicit that I would only approve additional repairs under the assumption that the initial charge was adjusted. I was promised that this would occur and also promised that I would be kept abreast of what the results of the test were. I HAVE NO IDEA, AS OF TODAY WHAT WAS DONE.. I HAVE ASKED REPEATEDLY WITH NO RESPONSE. What's more, the original charge has still not been adjusted. On January 31, ****, I was told by a representative, ***************************, "****** will get with you on this matter". ****** did not respond by February 9, so I again contacted the company asking for an adjustment and a description of the services provided. ****** briefly called, indicating he would return my call by the end of the day... Again, no response.I have documentation on everything. In short, the original charges are excessive, and promises to adjust the bill have not happenedCustomer response

The business has contacted me, and I believe we have achieved a successful resolution of my complaint. I would like to reserve the right to resubmit my complaint, but at this stage, I am satisfied with their response and would like my complaint removed.
Thank you so much for your help! Repeated attempts to have the business assist me were met only with silence. However, after filing my complaint, the business quickly contacted me within hours. Ya'll are miracle workers! Thanks again.
