The people seem very nice. They then give you 3 ridiculous options when you're in need. They do not give you paperwork you signed electronically and then over charge you after giving you the price. I had to call to get a refund and they destroyed my brick and trying to tell me that's normal. I have pictures of clear glue to my brick house with holes left in it. And they tell me that if I buy paint they will paint it. I'm not letting this go.Mister Sparky Response

Mr. ******, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your experience with Mister Sparky on the BBB. Since you’ve posted this review, our master electrician has had the opportunity to speak with you regarding the repairs to your home. We have re-sent you all the documentation you signed during your service call. As we have discussed the brick had to be cut to make room for the improvements that were needed to your breaker box. Mister Sparky can’t be responsible for cosmetic repairs that are needed due to updating your project safely and bringing it up to the National Electric Code. We discussed this before doing any work at your home and you signed two separate forms authoring us to move forward with the repair, even though there may be damage to the brick to accomplish the repair. After the repair, you signed acceptance of the work and indicated you were satisfied at the time the service was completed. We truly value your feedback, but at this point, it appears we are at an impasse.Review from Kelley C

I’m extremely disappointed in the experience I received. I phoned and was quoted a 69.00 trip fee to include diagnostics. I asked if the trip fee would be applied to any services needed and was told no. I accepted their availability with the understanding they would arrive and diagnose the problem and then charge me for any services needed. The technician arrived only to quote me 618.00 to tell me what is wrong. Shocked by this, I showed him around and explained the problem. I was unwilling to pay this amount. I went on to explain my call with his company. He agreed and said he had listened to the call. He wondered if I could tell that the person didn’t know what he was talking about. He went on to say it was a third party. As a result he deducted the trip fee and quoted me 540.00. He explained the 540 would include changing out my breakers the GFIC and any small repairs. As a result I agreed. I had to leave for a quick minute. The technician phoned me to tell me I was correct about everything I had said. He explained he would replace the breaker and put in two breakers so that my items were pulling so many amps. He was going to clean it up and put in a GFIC. I returned about 15 minutes later and found him sitting in his truck. He then tells me that he did nothing. Shocked again by this I asked what he planned to charge me. He stuck with the 540 and then phoned his office. The person on the other end said to charge me 281.00. I questioned this, because again he did nothing. In the end I paid, and he departed. I then phoned the manager Kimme. She completed her research and phoned me back. Kimmee explained that I had already been discounted so there would be no additional credit. I questioned this because the work I was promised was not completed. She went on to say that was because of the rats nest I had in my wiring in the breaker box. Again shocked by this response, I merely asked for the new switches or credit me everything but the trip charge. She declined.Mister Sparky Response

I spoke to Ms. ********** about her concern when she called in last week. At Mister Sparky we strive to have our clients be 100% satisfied, and I can understand her disappointment in her situation, as we discussed it on the phone at length. Her pool company told her the issue she was experiencing was electrical and she needed an electrician to fix her problem. When we arrived, our electrician did a visual inspection and then proposed a diagnostics for $549, she agreed and he moved forward. He concluded the problem was in fact the pool pump causing her issue. We don’t fix pool pumps so he advised that we couldn’t fix the issue. Since we couldn’t he called the office to get management approval to lower his already agreed upon fee. We reduced the fee to $281. Ms. ********** claims we didn’t do anything, but we did give her a definitive answer as to what was causing her problem. When I tried to resolve the issue and come to an amicable agreement, I did offer her a future credit, and she declined and advised me she would dispute her credit card charges.Review from Christopher D.

Be very cautious if using this company. They will charge outrageous amounts for work. In my scenario, they charged me $1000 for a breaker change and connector. They refuse to provide a detailed invoice showing parts and labor because that’s, in the words of Albert, ‘not how we do it.’ I believe they’re refusing to provide because they aren’t willing to show the price gouging. I would recommend that no one uses this company because they’ll take advantage of you at every step of the way, monetarily.Mister Sparky Response

Thank you for your review of your experience with Mister Sparky. I understand that you spoke with Albert ****** regarding your request to break out our pricing for labor and material, so you could request reimbursement from your home warranty company. Unfortunately, our pricing is based on the job, and you did review the estimate and sign to agree to upfront pricing for the job as a whole prior to moving forward with any work with us. So, we are not refusing to show a detailed invoice, we simply don’t build out pricing for jobs that way. We do not price gouge and take pride on having competitive pricing in today’s market. I understand that your home warranty company came out before us and couldn’t find the issue, so then you called Mister Sparky for assistance with your home’s electrical problem. We found the problem and fixed it as explained on your invoice. Now your home warranty doesn’t want to reimburse for the work we have already completed, because our invoice isn’t broken down to labor and material, which is not how we operate. Mister Sparky presented an upfront price in writing in advance to doing any work at your home and you approved it with a signature before any work was done. The problem that you had was corrected and is now working properly and safely. We understand your frustration with your home warranty company process of reimbursement and stand firm that you were not taken advantage of by Mister Sparky.Customer Response

I would like to respond to Mister Sparks’s comment. As you can see, they very much centered the response on my home warranty which is a moot point. They also said that they aren’t refusing to provide a detailed invoice; however, that’s ‘not they do it’. I believe that is, exactly, refusing to provide a broken down invoice. The amount charged was almost $1000 for a breaker and a connector, the parts that Albert told me were replaced. I would just caution any consumer on using this company, and I would let them decide if replacing a breaker and simple wire connector for $1000 is gouging or not, rather than either I or Albert making that determination.
