9/28/2022 I took my pickup in because of a check engine light. Noise from the engine had me worried that it was the turbocharger. Got a price from J&Z to repair turbo and also to delete engine emissions. After waiting a week, was told that it was something else and would cost a little over $500. I still wanted the deletions done but did not ask how much but taliking to others and searching online found the price of around $2000 which made sense with the original quote of $4700 to do repair and deletion as turbo repairs are expensive . When I called the following week, they said they were fiinshed and the price was $4050. I told t;hem I was not going to pay they much and they called back that day to tell me they had the truck ready and the price was $678. There had **** an exhaust leak that needed fixing so that was reasonable. I pick up the truck the next day and made it about half way home when the check engine light came on. I stopped at AutoZone and had them check the cause and it was the same thing J&Z was to have reapired. When I called and talked to the J&Z mechanc, he told me that since I didn't do the delete and he had not fixed the exhaust leak, then the truck was going to do that. Well I was furious expecially since the truck's computer kept slowing the truck until I was going at a crawl by the time i made it home. I called a half dozen times the follwing day and they didn't answer and no voice mail. The following day, they did and I talked to the owner, *******************************, who was going to discuss this with the mechanic and get back that day(, Thursday, September 29. This is October 2 and still no call. These people are obviously not trustworthy and to let an old person like me leave knowing that I was going to have problems and barely make it home was just not right. My truck is not drivablefor any distance.

      Business response

**************** did bring his truck in on a Monday his concern was check engine light and that he was afraid it was his turbo. He waited in front office and we did look over truck we informed him it was not his turbo, that he would need to leave truck for further diagnostics. He agreed upon diagnostics we found he need a Mass air flow sensor and a *** sensor to resolve issue as well as exhaust leak at the *** valve. He was fine with the repair of the 2 sensors, I ******************************* did speak to him on the phone to tell him about sensors myself. He in between kept telling us he was quoted $4700 but then said he was quoted at a shop in Tayler he seemed confused on services at that time. He called and cussed and yelled at my office manager twice. So we did not repair exhaust leak at egr which is causing sensors to still act up. He wants us to delete his truck which we are not going to do. Then he spoke with the Owner ******************************* proceeded to speak not professional as ******** tried to explain what the situation was and told ******** he was going to bash us and our business all over which is threatening which is a defamation of character. Deleting a truck is illegal and we are not doing that for ****************. I spoke with **************** and was going to see how we could help him with exhaust leak till I was told how he spoke to the other owner ******** and my front office manager *****. He definitely need the *** and Mass air flow sensor truck will not run right until the exhaust leak it repaired by the ***. He had codes in the system for both sensors P0299 and P2263.

I being the owner have no problem taking care of customers but to have my staff cursed at and yelled at I can not work with that. Like I said ******** the owner not just mechanic was trying to explain and he just said that he was going to bash us all over town so ******** said I'm sorry to hear that and we can't make you happy.
