The school bus drivers employed by Durham Transportation need to be trained NOT to park across someones driveway. It seems like the bus drivers would have the common sense not to park across someones driveway. It is impossible to reach someone locally (bus barn is on ************ to complain. This happened (AGAINand it happens constantly!) Thursday, May 16th at approximately 3:10 pm. The bus involved was bus #**, license plate number ********. The woman driving the bus was more involved in whatever she was eating and not in doing her job!This is ridiculous to have to deal with this day after day, after day!!Business response

On Thursday, August 18, 2022, the second day of school, my 6 year old daughter was riding the bus (bus 58) home from her school (Bennett Elementary in Wolfforth, TX.). The children are given wrist bands with their address written on them to ensure the bus driver knows when each child should be getting off of the bus. My daughter was allowed to get off of the bus at the wrong stop. The bus driver told me when he stopped where she should have gotten off that she wasn't on the bus. I understand he doesn't know my daughter, but he did not check any of the wristbands! She was lost and scared on a street she didn't know. She started to panic. Luckily, a friendly kid helped her, but it took us nearly an hour to track her down. I called the Durham bus services number many times but nobody ever answered. I left a detailed voice-mail. I still haven't heard back from them. The bus driver is the only adult responsible for the children on his bus. It is his duty and responsibility to make sure each kid gets off of the bus at the correct stop. It is also his job to know which kids got off at which stops. When he told me she wasn't on the bus, he shrugged and kept driving. He didn't even realize what he had done! This is completely unacceptable! This bus driver needs to be reprimanded! I want him off of my daughter's route, and I want him to redo his job training. If this is not possible or he is unwilling, then I want him fired. He is a danger to our kids!Business response

We listened to their concern. We apologized and explained what is expected of the driver of the bus, the child, and the parent of the child. The first few days of school the driver, the child, and the parent are trying to get to know each other. The driver then learns what kid gets off at each stop and will not let a child get off at the wrong stop. But the first few days of school are hectic because there are several kids on the bus that are new to riding the bus. The driver of this bus is one of our veteran drivers. He has always been very careful and safe. His driving record is great and we have not had any past complaints are issues with this driver. Durham School Services takes pride in safety of all children that ride our buses.
