Mid August 2024 I went to Best Value Auto Sales to purchase a vehicle, and was directed toward a different vehicle (2014 Chevrolet Sonic *** than originally interested in. During the test drive the engine light popped on, so I inquired on why. The Employee assured me it was nothing more than an O2 Sensor, so I decided to purchase the Vehicle for $4,300. The tire light popped on 2 hours after I purchased it. (I live in *********) The day after I get the vehicle to my home it starts shaking and rattling, so I took it to a local Mechanic, who informed me it needed an Intake Manifold, this was handled with the help of Best Value Auto Sales. Not even 1 week later I began to hear more noises, so I brought it back to the mechanic. Upon further inspection they said the car would require Struts, ***** Front End Alignment, A toggle switch, and 4 tire sensors. I changed everything but the tire sensors for around $2000 (will provide proof). Right after that I get it back and it still doesnt sound right still, so I bring it to another mechanic where Im informed it also needs Front CV Axel, Sway Bar, Frame Mount Bushings, Tune Up, Oil house filter replacement, and Lower ball joints in which I paid around $1,800 (will provide proof). I informed the employee helping me and the company that I was a college student and needed a reliable car, the employee mislead me, and did not disclose important information about the car. I have spent 2 months trying to fix this vehicle, to no avail which has in turn affected my school attendance and performance, as well as my capability to drive where I need to be. The business definitely misrepresented the car

As a dealer in business for 30 years, this is a first.

As far as this customer being sold a vehicle that he hadn't inquired about, we give every single customer options for the amount of money they are wanting to spend so that the customer is happy with their purchase. This customer test drove this particular vehicle and chose to purchase the vehicle. We also make sure the customer is happy with what they test drive and choose before signing any paperwork. The state requires us to have a Buyers Guide (AS-IS) signed by every customer stating whether or not the vehicle was sold with a warranty or without and that the vehicle is sold AS-IS. Our dealership is small and does not offer warranty, but we are happy to help customers that have this type of issue that soon, just as we did help this customer when he called and told us. We do not give refunds and the customer signed a document stating that we told him that (provided) We can always look at the situation and make another decision, but no refunds.

Known to us and this customer, when he test drove the vehicle, there were no issues with this vehicle. The check engine light did come on and my employee put a test code reader on the vehicle and the code came back as an O2 sensor. Very cheap fix and again, the vehicle was driving fine with no issues. No symptoms of any kind even with the light on.

The customer signed paperwork (provided) stating that he found no issues, understood it is a used vehicle and agreed upon purchasing the vehicle in its current condition and also agreeing that he would be the one responsible for fixing any issued that presently exist or that may occur as it is a used, nowhere near new condition vehicle. (all docs provided).

The only time the customer reached out to us was about the manifold gasket and we did pay for the parts to have that issue resolved. After hearing about no other problems we assumed everything was fixed and good. After lookin further into this matter, from his ****** reviews, we see that the ******** he took it to told him so many things that were supposedly bad on it and the second ******** said no and that the first ******** didn't even put the manifold gasket on correctly We even tried to explain that the ******** was just taking advantage of him. Had this customer have communicated to us instead of going this far, we could have helped him some other way. But nobody in the world knows whats going to happen to a used vehicle at any time. He drove at the lot and was happy and all the way to ********* with no issues other that a tire pressure light coming on. All was good when he left the lot and he was a very happy customer.
