I chose ******** to replace my hardwood floors thru **** Industrial Floors Company warranty claim. **** told me to pick off their website a company and I chose ********. ******** came out September 11th-September 15th 2023. I was at the house every day watching the progess of my floors being replaced. It wasn't until September 15th when they were done that there was a very strong, toxic vapor in my house. ******** installers saturated 1,300sq feet of hardwood in mineral spirits, leaving my hardwood dull, cracking, splitting, and a toxic vapor inside. After 3 months of going back and forth with **** on the cause of all this, **** agreed to replace the hardwood again but I had to use ******** again. ******** came out Dec 10th 2023, ripped up 3 boards and the toxic vapors were so strong, the installers had to call *****************; owner of ********. The poisonous and toxic vapors could be smelled across the street. They cause nausea, headaches, nose bleeds, throat irritation, respiratory issues etc. **** had an inspector come out Dec 12th and it was concluded that because ******** used mineral spirits, it caused a chemical reaction exposure inside my house. I asked for my house to have the air quality cleaned, walls cleaned, air ducts cleaned, house sanitized and cleaned for chemical exposure but both ******** and **** refused, putting the homeowners and pets health at risk. ******** installers even blew all the saw dust and toxic vapors inside my house with a lawn blower. My house is covered wall to ceiling in saw dust, there's still a strong odor, health concerns, and they refuse to fix the issue. My house is 2 years old and never had a toxic odor until ********. ******** installers even damaged ever wall in my house with dry wall, scuffs, my tile grout covered in saw dust, and again refuses to fix there mistakes and damages. **** refused because they stated ******** is responsible. ******** is saying they're not because they say it was ****** adhesive that caused thesmellBusiness response

There is no evidence that Dungans did anything wrong. I can say we did not do anything different with this install than we have done with all other wood installs. We always try and take care of the homes we are doing work in. I did offer to have the house cleaned prior to the customer going back into the house but never heard back.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
******** installers saturated my hardwood floors in mineral spirits on September 18th 2023 that caused a strong fume odor inside my *************** the flooring manufacturer had an inspector come out on September 21st 2023 that indicated there was an odor inside the house that is associated with solvents like mineral spirits. I was forced to live in my 2 year old house for 3 months going back and forth to get the hardwood floors replaced again and having to live with the windows open 24/7. On December 11th 2023 when ******** installers ripped up 3 boards, the fumes were fully released causing the supervisor ******* to call the owner, ****. The fumes were so bad that my mother and I started choking when we walked in. It was so strong that you can smell it outside across the street. My neighbor who works from home could smell it inside his house. On December 12th 2023, **** had an inspector come out. Shaws Divisional Warranty Claims Manager ****** stated in email that it was caused by the installers using mineral spirits that causes a chemical reaction inside my 2 year old *************** indicated that **** was going to pay to have ******** come out to do 4 separate quotes. The first quote they paid for was to have ******** come out to do air scrubbing and clean the concrete subfloor in hopes to get the fumes out. The next quote was to have all my rugs deeped cleaned to get the fumes out of them, clean my 3 couches that were exposed to the chemical exposure inside. The next quote was to come back in and clean the entire house and air ducts after the floors were installed. All together, the total was about $9********************/**** only paid $3,200. The installers took a lawn blower inside my house and blew all the toxic vapors and saw dust all over my house and my walls are completely covered in all that. 2 restoration companies have stated that the walls need to be wiped clean and painted in hope to seal the toxic fumes. ****'s installers also damaged several walls during the process and scuffed my walls. This is a 2 year old house that I even had the ** of Construction for the builder out in June 2023 that can testify there was no fumes inside my house, no dry wall damage, and now my jetted tub isn't working because ******** installers tripped several breakers and more than likely blown a fuse for the tub or it's clogged because they took a lawn blower inside my house. The cleaners **** was going to pay for after the installers were done was a cleaning company that would do a light cleaning, but not the deep cleaning and air ducts that both **** and ******** agreed to pay. Both companies have failed to fulfill their obligations and because **** has stated it's ******** fault for using mineral spirits that caused a chemical reaction inside my house, ******** is responsible for the damages, for paying the restoration company to fulfill what needs to be done inside my house to ensure the smell and fumes are out of my house and it's safe to live in. ******** is responsible for all the dry wall damages, scuffs, and painting the entire house to ensure the fumes out completely out/sealed. Attached it's the email from ****** Divisional Warranty Claims Manager, Shaws inspection report September 21st 2023, and Shaws BBB response indicating that it's not ****** product that caused the chemical reaction which indicates ******** is at fault for saturating the hardwood floors in mineral spirits

**** knew all the quotes and the cleaning needing to be done inside the house before and after the hardwood floors were installed. He knew that because of the toxic fumes that **** Floors have indicated was a result of ******** installers saturating the hardwood floors back in September 2023 that causes a chemical reaction inside my house. **** knew that my 3 couches were ruined because of the toxic fumes and sleeping on them for 3 months and I needed to be paid for 3 new couches. **** also knew that the air ducts, walls, tile, and grout all had to be cleaned because of 1) the toxic fumes being inside my house for 3 months and 2) the installers taking a lawn blower inside my house that caused all the toxic fumes, saw dust, and dust in general to be blown all on my walls, ceiling, ceiling fans, cabinets, any furniture that was left inside my house, etc. **** knew he only paid the first paid of ********. **** also knew that ******** didn't fulfill their obligation the first time and that we the consumers wanted to go with Carpet Tech to finish the rest. Both restoration companies did let me know if they couldn't get the smell out of the walls, that the walls including ceiling would need to be painted and hope the smell is sealed. **** has all the quotes, everything he said he was going to take care of, that he was working with **** Floors but in the end, ****, ********,nor **** followed through with finishing their written agreement to pay for all the cleaning needed to be done. **** continues to say it wasn't their adhesive, they are not at fault and has stated multiple times it was caused by the mineral spirits that was used to saturate my hardwood floors in September 2023 that caused the chemical reaction exposure inside my house and that the consumer had to live with for 3 months. The smell is still inside my house, the outside needs to be powered washed and cleaned which I sent **** a quote on that because all the toxic fumes and saw dust being blown out the windows and outside, everything is covered in it outside. ******** installers nor **** is certified to make a determination that it was safe for the consumer to live inside the house after a chemical reaction exposure. ******** and **** knew that all the quotes for Dalworth or Carpet Tech weren't paid and therefore the necessary cleaning steps to ensure the toxic fumes smell inside my 2 year old house was gone. They haven't finished the job, they haven't followed through with their written agreement and **** has blamed ******** which is why ******** is responsible. I have damages to my drywall, scruffs all over my dry wall, and now a clogged or blown fused jetted tub that worked prior to ******** coming out on Dec 11th 2023. All of this was done by ******** installers and they are responsible. I've had the builder out here fixing their warranty stuff back in ********** 2023 and have pictures, emails, etc showing I never had a warranty claim for my jetted tub, no dry wall damages, no scruffs on the walls by the builders contractors, or a toxic fumes. It was only after ******** installers that I the consumer have all this.
