My mom is disabled and asked for a handicapped space. They offered her a reserved space for a fee. Is that ADA ********** I thought they were supposed to provide reasonable accommodations without charging any money.

We were excited to move into Axis, the first week of January, 2023. Eight months later, we were excited to move out. In the first week, we realized that there was a ***** problem. Unfortunately, not just a small problem but what seemed like an infestation. Weekly we had their pest control company out to treat, but it seemed to make it worse. We were told this was normal and to keep treating. In March, we decided to assist and purchased ***** motels which seemed to take care of the issue. We had to find our own solution. In April, we experienced a pretty serious leak in our unit coming from the unit above. Immediately we notified the office. Maintenance came and looked at it. Having not seen or heard from them again for a good bit, we began to notice a funky smell in the closets then the mold began to appear pretty aggressively. Again, notified the management team, but they didnt seem to feel our same urgency, so we cleaned it with bleach. They sent someone out the second time it grew back but it was clearly a hassle as we had to fight for this. It was over a weekend and they didnt have the staff on hand for this at the time. We pressed in believing that the mold was still present in the walls. They finally agreed to cut out a small portion of the Sheetrock and found that we were correct. Still moist with mold present. This resulted in a much longer process of drying and treating, but with the extent of the mold not only in our apartment, but also other common areas in the complex, we werent convinced that there still wasnt a problem. ***** is the best thing Axis has going for them and she was able to get us released from the remaining contract, however the mold was beginning to show signs of growing back the week we moved out at the end of August, and the sheet rock and baseboards were never fully repaired. Beware, as we have found, you will most likely have to find a solution to your problems that you encounter at Axis!
