What a hassle dealing with BCBS of Texas. We recently switch to them and they will not cover my Daughter's medication that she has been taking for 4 years because it is in the wrong format (oral dissolving vs chewable). They totally ignore the reason she takes the *** in their denials and think taking 12 pills per day vs 4 is a great idea. I have wasted so much time going in circles with their customer **********************. The "customer advocates" don't advocate for the customers, they just toe the company line. Their review doctor even question if the reason we need to change to the type of pill (due to an allergy to the dyes used in the regular pills) was valid or if we were making it up. Apparently a letter from a Doctor saying their is an allergy is not sufficient.Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Response

Son was in hospital for 4 mos. Multiple surgeries. Amputated a lower leg. Had to come stay with me in ******** (***********) to recuperate. Could not for 6 weeks so far get PT authorized. ************ not in their plan, even though center says they are. Need to update PCP. Needed a different diagnosis. Needed one thing after another. Still has not started PT. The man should be on his feet right now instead of going back into depression. Texas may be good on many things. I changed jobs and switched from **** of FL to BCBS of Texas. Big problem. Stopped covering ******* I was prescribed and taking for both glucose control and weight. Although two different doctors have declared I have Type 2 diabetes, BCBS of Tx decided it wasnt bad enough. Would not approve any alternate drugs. I went to a dermatologist for skin issues and he prescribed 2 creams and both were not covered. I guess their profits are more important than my health. Fortunately working with our HR to switch providers next year. Do not use this provider!Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Response

Our bccs policy is absolutely worthless and a complete scam. Literally takes $200 out of my paycheck for this garbage and cant even use any of it until the individual of $4500 or the family of $9000 is met. Not even sure how this is a legal policy. When it mentioned primary visit would be free, I believed it meant all primary physician visits, not just the one a year wellness visit. It would be a negative 10 stars if available. I am with ********** retired but not on ********). When my husband dropped off the plan to go to ********* Blue Cross wiped out MY deductible, saying that deductibles were FAMILY, but Out of Pocket was INDIVIDUAL, and my husband's medical bills covered the deductible. When he dropped off, Blue Cross said I had to meet a new deductible, although I have paid over $5000 out of pocket this year. However, on *** statements both are listed as individual. To make a long story short, I just paid over $900 for a diagnostic mammogram, because " my deductible is not met" although my out of pocket is. I cannot pick up my diabetes meds because the same prescription I paid $56 for in July is suddenly $963 - because "my deductible is not met". This has been going on since August. This is absolutely criminal. By the time the year is over, I will have paid over $12,000 between premiums and payments to healthcare. RUN AS FAR AND FAST AS YOU CAN FROM BLUE CROSS TEXAS!!!!!Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Response

The worst and disorganized ******** advantage plan. DO NOT CHOOSE BLUE CROSS BLUE SHARE AS YOUR PROVIDER. 1. I went to Heb pharmacy for flu and seasonal covid Shots and this benefit is denied by **** of Tex. I called them and the agent told me , it is covered by Part B and only can get it at my *************** But my ************* do not have those shots. I have to file a complaint and appeal to get it approved then I am allowed to get those shot at a pharmacy. After the shot. BCBS of Tx called me twice to explain to me how I can get the shots, It is after I got the shots. They are very disorganized and they do not know what they are doing. 2, My Doctor orded a X-ray and I was charged $100 co-pay and a CT cost me the least $250.00. those charges are much higher than other ************ NOT USE THEM PERIOD.Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Response

This has got to be one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. We pay over $700 a month (for the 2 of us) plus whatever my employer contributes monthly, and they pay out so very little. I have a deductible that equates to around the first $4000 my responsibility before they will pay 80 percent of the bill. What a joke. In essence I pay for my healthcare unless some calamity occurs causing me to shell out $4K. Their website is highly inaccurate with outdated; doctors who it says accept new patients but dont, telephone numbers of doctors that when you call they are hundreds of miles away (but willing to do a video call) and when you do independent searches on a doctor you think might work out, they are one and two star doctors with tons of complains or malpractice. They honestly scrape the bottom of the barrel for available doctors here in **********. I cant recommend them to anyone!! Just a terrible company that only is interested in taking your money with no return for you. Avoid like the plague!!Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Response

We signed up for service at my place of employment at an exorbitant rate only to find that when our service was supposed to begin that they had not put in our information, so we don't have insurance. This company is a joke. I am paying them $651.00 per month for insurance since January 1, 2024 and j am not able to get any diagnose for my medical condition. I have a chest tumor and swollen left breast lymph node with a discharge and in chronic pain daily non stop. My orders are being changed so I will not get treatments. When I go to my appointment's I am being told that its my insurance that do not allow them to give me the medications to help me. I am being told to just take ***** and go into a dark room and go to sleep. I have contacted them several times asking about the way I am being treated and all they do is ask a few questions and put me on hold and hang up and never calls back. My daughter feels as if they are wanting her to die. They are aware of the medical fraud on my record and still cant get the proper treatment. For the first 6 to 7 months they were ok and now they have changed. All they were doing was a lot of tests and no treatments, just giving me the run around and just taking my money.Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Response
