Late last week I made the 4 hour drive down to Clay ********************** to look at a used 2019 ***** civic and eventually purchase. Unfortunately I found out there were multiple leaks in the sealant that caused quite a mess after going through the car wash, along with a thunderstorm that created additional water damage to the interior. I made the decision to take the car back to the dealership to obtain my old car back for fear of additional issues arising. I was made aware of a 7 day back exchange if I was unhappy with the purchase. However, upon return the dealership failed to mention the exception to the rule that the car had to have less than 200 miles upon return. Making the effort to drive so far on my only off day being a healthcare worker, I found that unprofessional and disgusting. Additionally, my car was appraised at $19,000. My total buyback was $28,500. I understand the dealer fees that come with trading back my car, however at nearly a $10,000 difference is ludicrous. On a professional standpoint, the leakage issues I suffered I was told by management that I was lying and what evidence I had sent wasnt real. I hope no one has to sit through a car wash actively getting wet multiple times just to get proof to show that the next person who buys this doesnt suffer the same fate. When I asked if the car would be taken care of for the next customer who wanted to purchase the vehicle, I was met with a decision to have it auctioned off. It doesnt bode well that management would want to attempt ameliorating the situation rather than throw the car away. It lacks purpose to better your company with a tie in of less than ethical conduct. I had such high hopes doing business with this dealership. Unfortunately I feel like Ive been financially assaulted and taken for granted by individuals who treated me as a number not a customer.

This dealership has made the decision that the only way they can do business is by playing games with their customers. After test driving a car I found online, I discovered there was significant markup by the dealership making the car unaffordable for me. Of course, my salesman **** wanted to find a way to make the deal. I already had an approved loan with my credit union, but **** said they'd match my interest rate. After seeing the crazy high payments even after they supposedly kept marking the price lower and lower, I gave up and said I'd consider a less expensive car. The next day, I gave the car price to my credit union, and the payments were hundreds of dollars less than what my salesman was giving me. I don't know what they were doing to the numbers to make such a difference. So I called and said I wanted the original car but would finance through my credit union. He said they could not make a deal with me unless I use their financing. I complained and walked away. Eventually, they relented and said I could use the credit union but that the price of the car went back up to the higher price. I talked to sales manager ****** who agreed to sell the car to me for the lower price. I was on my way to sign the paperwork when "suddenly" my salesman discovered the car had already been sold. He offered to sell me a used version of the same car for the same price I was buying the new one. I'm sure it was all a game from beginning to end. I went to another Hyundai dealer and got a straightforward deal, so I know it is not the company to blame. It is this dealership. From top to bottom.
