I had a highly frustrating and disappointing experience with McKenzie **** and Associates. The debt they are trying to collect resulted from a disputed charge with a merchant. On 28 JUNE 24, I had already informed them that the dispute was ongoing with my bank, and they were fully aware that a decision had not yet been made. Despite this, they continued contacting me.Once the bank ruled in favor of the merchant, I expected the merchant to inform the debt collector of the resolution. However, the debt collector failed to verify the updated status of the debt and continued harassing me with notifications dated 18 SEP 24. It is not my responsibility to play middleman between the merchant and the debt collector. I also received no formal communication acknowledging the resolution of the dispute.Their behavior is unprofessional and borders on harassment, showing no respect for a proper dispute process. I caution anyone dealing with this company to be prepared for a lack of communication and disregard for consumer rights.

I am rejecting this response because: Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Texas Debt Collection Act. The collector must provide a written notice if they withdraw a case against me. Please follow the rules and regulations.

This "practice" reached out to our mom, asking all of this HIPPA information without even verifying A) who she was, or B) talking to the correct person. As you can see on any review, this company will treat you like you are a joke, that you don't know anything, and will literally violate HIPPA and yell all this personal information at you without even verifying you are who they are looking for. I.e, Date of birth, address, last 4, etc etc etc. BIG violation. All of your PHI out there to whoever they happened to call in regards to who they think has a connection to you. The threatens to hit your credit if you don't pay them, even though there is no debt at all, they wont provide you the original letter, debt documentation, correspondence, or anything. Sometimes to the point where they will provide a letter, showing your signature (don't know where they actually got that from), but in the letter, your typed name will be wrong, information miss-spelled, and the original location you might of received said debt from says your account is $0. This company needs to be shut down.

On 10/19/2022 A door to door pest management company staff *********************** came to my door and told me that my new construction needs pest flushing and an additional cover to my garage door to prevent pests from getting access to my home through the ********* agreed and paid for both the pest flushing and garage door cover, $107.17 and $75.78 respectively. The Pest control staff came back 6days later on 10/25/2022 and said that I have entered a TWO year contract with them. I was not at any point offered any contract to sign. I asked the gentleman not to reach out to me again as I believed this to be some sort of fraud. The next day I received a call from their office saying that I have requested a contract termination and therefore I will need to pay 80% of 2years worth of service totaling $525.They emailed me a document that was fraudulently signed and not my signature saying that I owed them a contract termination fee. I made it abundantly clear that I have no contract whatsoever with them. They sent this claim to Mckenzie, **** and Associates to collect this purported debt. I got 2 calls demanding that I pay the fraudulent debt or they will send the debt to the credit bureau and damage my credit rating, I asked them to cease and desist from trying to collect this debt from me because I'm not aware of any such contract and that this is fraud. The debt collection agency followed through with their threat and sent this fraudulent debt to Equifax.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

This is contingent upon the debt collector informing the credit bureau to remove the collection on my credit report.
