I received a quote from a lady named ****. i told her i would be moving within the same complex from one building to the building next, On Saturday March 23, 2024 @10:15am i received a call from the gentlemen, the move was scheduled at 11am. i arrived at 10:50am greeted them and led them upstairs to the apt, one of the guys asked for direction so i showed him i needed all the heavy large furniture, he agreed, had me sign for the first hour. It was 11:00am. The other gentlemen immediately grabbed the dolly and started moving the bins. I told them i too would be back and forth as i was moving all my fragile items. (*****) remained in the unit for quite some time while the gentleman with the dolly and i were back and forth. A few minutes pass and i see ***** calmly walking from one building to the next with some cushions. I immediately felt uneasy, usually the cushions are not first priority. I asked nicely could they please focus on the heavy stuff. no reaction. An hr in and my apt looked the same, I begin to bring small boxes downstairs, when i turn around i see ***** grab them. I shouted could he please come upstairs and help with the heavy items. He rushed at me agressively "we are 1hr and 45min in i need you to sign so we can continue" we had a brief back and forth about the time, since it was incorrect. He proceeded to get verbally agressive and cursed as he threw my items on the ground, refused to give me his name. I immediately called the company and (*****) was just as agressive and would not allow me to explain. I told him i had the incident recorded and of course he became apologetic. I was highly fearful so i called 911. my time log shows i called the company and spoke with ***** at 12:33pm so there is no way we were 1hr and 45min when ***** approached me. I later found on yelp all the horrible reviews. But i believe i may be the only one to record their scam of a business. (recording too large to attach). I will also be seeking legal action.Business response

I believe I stated previously that the move was under the name *******************. It was on Saturday March 26, 2024 at 11am.While reading some yelp reviews I noticed the company likes to reply the same way, we do not have you in our system.
I do not accept this as their one and only response. It is dismissive and insensitive. No regards to anything said in my original complaint.

We have reviewed the complaint and we have a ***************** on our books not a *********************************. When reviewing the attachments she presented there is a voicemail that says ***** called from our office number, we do not have a *****.
On 3-23-24 we arrived at the front gate of ***************** apartment complex and called her to be let in or receive the code to get in. She said to wait for someone and follow them that she did not have a code. We waited a while to get in.
When the movers arrived at her apartment they started the time at 10:50. During the move ***************** was not happy because of the way the move was proceeding. The movers carried everything between the apartments because it was to close to load the truck. We have certain ways we move a couch and cushions when we walk to the other apartment.
She was yelling at our movers. Our movers called into the office that there was a problem with the customer. ***************** also called our office and complained. My Operations manager listened to her and made a decision to discount her move 45 minutes. I'm sending an attachment that shows he text her phone about the discount after her phone call.
We completed the move at 12:35 the total work time was 1:45 which equals $283.75. She was credited $93.75 and the total we charged for the move was 1 hour $190.00. We completed the move for ***************** in 1:45 the original estimate was 1:30 - 2:00 so it was under the original estimated quote.
We have been in business for over 40 years and do our best moving our customers from one location to the next.

I am rejecting this response because:**** was not present during the move , I was, *********. Which is the signature you have there. I may not have the correct supervisor name because they all refused to give me their name, I only know the gentlemans name is ***** because his co worker gave it to me after the incident, and ***** is what was left on my voicemail as you can see from the screenshot, stating to give him a call back, that is your companys phone number. Also the timestamps do not match from your end. There was no problem with the move until the gentleman started cursing and being aggressive. This is all recorded, he called in to the office in front of me you can hear him in the recording. There was no yelling on my part, all this can be heard on the recording. Which I can send in. I want a FULL REFUND. For the stress, aggression and verbal assault received. I had to hire a different company to move the rest of the stuff that your employees did not complete. If need be I will file a civil lawsuit and provide all documentation for additional compensation I am entitled to.
The amount of years you claim to be in business do not matter if youve only done decent work in a couple of those years. The yelp reviews prove it . We all cannot be in the wrong. I except accountability and compensation.
Regards,

As a single mom struggling to make ends meet, I want to warn others about Half Price Movers if you need to move. On 2/8/23, I hired them to help me move. They left without doing a final walk through, while I was cleaning the kitchen, and left multiple large items originally included in the quote, for me to move by myself in a sedan. They only refunded me $88/30 minutes worth on March 3rd, which is not a satisfactory amount. I have an email with proof of items I initially informed them about, and it includes items that were left. I have a phone log from 3:37pm the day before the move, where I provided an update of what needed to be taken. I called back at 4:36pm that day to ask how they handle moves during the rain, and was told my furniture would be wrapped. It was not, and my mattress got wet. Also, booties should be worn in the future, because I have pictures of all the mud tracked in that I had to scrub and clean. I have a phone log of when I called the office at 11:41am the day of the move, because not only did the movers leave without telling me, but they didn't tell me they'd be a while to take lunch, so I didn't know where my belongings were. The male that answered lied and said they were around the corner and on their way, when they weren't. I don't understand the point of lying about that. I have a witness who corroborates they left without telling me. I had to move the additional items by myself, and it took multiple trips since I don't have a truck. It took far longer than 30 minutes. For personal reasons, I was not comfortable arguing with 3 men by myself, so I signed their paperwork indicating I was satisfied with their service, which I was not. I had to miss work to clean their mess and move the rest of the large items, so $88 doesn't come close. I paid a total of $742 and was only refunded $88.Business response

We did review the complaint from ********************************* concerning her move on 2/8/23. The move was over 9 months ago so we looked back in our files. ******** did call us concerning the rain and moving. We explained to her that we do the best we can in the rain. Booties are not worn when carrying furniture because of safety concerns. The movers did leave the first location once they were loaded. The movers tried to find ******** before they left but were unable to locate her. They thought she had left to the unload location. During her move a gentleman did call in and said certain items were not taken and wanted to see if there could be an hour refunded off the bill. ********** manager informed the gentleman that she could offer a 1/2 hour $88 credit off the bill and she would need to speak to the operations manager. The next day ********'s inventory was checked and 1 item a small toddler bed was left off the truck. ********** manager tried to contact ******** to see if we could send a truck back over to help with the items at no cost. ******** never responded so a credit of a 1/2 hour $88 was given off the bill. We apologize that ******** was not happy with her move. We did address her complaint 9 months ago.
