1. The representative made false claims about the costs. None of them were true. I have ended up paying more than I was supposed to and there is no recourse. 2. Their online system broke down on a Saturday night in a critical time when I needed it to be working. Their customer service was closed and thus non responsive. Highly recommend NOT working with this company.Authorize.Net Response

I am a hotel owner. I need capability to give refunds to the guests who book more than 6 months in advance. So all I need is to extend my refund period from 6 months to 1 year for my existing account. The process to apply for that is not a simple click inside your authorize.net merchant account. It is a complete new application and you get denied anyway. The process of application is not easy nor inefficient. As a business, we are loosing about 3% on original credit card transaction because we are forced to refund our guests in cash or by check.Review from ALEXIA H

In short, I believe this company (Authorize.net) runs a phishing scheme with another company, *************************. They run thousands of fake transactions through your online payment/merchant site, then they charge you a service fee for each one. Every time money would enter my account from people giving to our ministry, they would turn around and make larger and larger withdrawals directly from my account. They owed me close to $3k in refunds from fraudulent charges but when I call, they have someone answer in the *********** and they just fake like they're trying to help you and say someone will be contacting ********* scam! I will probably have to go through my bank to recuperate the lost funds.Review from Nate S

This company should be ashamed of itself and it's predatory business practices. Like the other reviewers, I wish I had read them before signing up. We're an established business that was looking to add ACH to bypass the slow postal system for checks. They approved us for ACH, so we ran a single test transaction with a client and called to validate everything looked ok. We asked about running additional payments from the client and they said things look great. So the next day we ran 3 more ACH transactions. The following day, we got an email from their risk team that said "We regret to inform you that a business decision has been made to close your eCheck.Net account immediately. Based on our review, all processed funds may remain on hold for a minimum of 90 days from the last processing date."When I called in, I'm told they will not disclose the reason for closing our account and stated our "business model" was the reason. So now this company is going hold $4500 of our money and not release it under any circumstance for 90 days with no proper explanation. We asked to refund our client and they refused. We asked about our client doing a charge back and they warned they would then pull another 4500 from our checking account while still keep the $4500 for 90 days. I offered for our client to talk to them, or send documentation on their letter head stating they would not do a chargeback on a refund, but nothing. They have refused every attempt to resolve this issue with no explanation. I do not understand their business policy to not do a proper background and risk assessment on a business until AFTER they run transactions. Shame on you and what you're doing to small business owners. We're trying to grow and manage our cash flow and improve our collection time from the postal system just to have these crooks take, and I assume earn interest, on ours, and everyone else's money they are holding on to. I will never work with this business again.Review from Stephen M

It's been several days and I am still waiting for the call back. They have angered many of our clients who are trying to process their ACH payments and they offer zero assistance or explanation of exactly why when you call. Then they simply ignore you forever after they state they will make sure they call you within ***** hours. Fat chance! The support system is the worst I have ever seen. They authorize the CC's which are the most fragile to be tinkered with. Yet they won't allow ACH direct to ********** that actually owns their business and I have been banking with for over a decade? When I asked why? Since we have never had a single financial issue in the history of our business. I was advised it was my business model. The goofy part is they authorize our incoming CC's, but I have to use another service because my business, identical to ****** other businesses like mine in the *** does not have a business model they like? IS it because I am a veteran owned business? And what would that have to do with ACH. Well The A+ rating is interesting. 70+ negatives and you can buy an A+ any other business it would be a D-. I guess you must get 100 negative reviews to get a A++Review from Liz S

They're good at authorizing transactions but would blame it on someone else like the processor when the money doesn't get to the seller account.Authorize.Net Response

We appreciate your time in leaving a review for Authorize.net on the BBB platform.
To clear up any confusion about what company to reach out to regarding funding, Authorize.net assists in verifying the transaction details and getting the authorization codes from the customers card issuing bank. Then batches out the transactions and sends them to the ******** Services Provider (***) who handles the movement of funds for the transactions. The *** is the Financial Institution that you have chosen to make your deposits.
I sincerely hope this helps. If you have further concerns please give us a call. We are available 24x7 at **************.Review from Alex

I closed my account with Auth.net about 12 years ago. Two month ago they started to charge my account again claiming that account is still active. They saved my account information from years before and decided to start taking money from it. This company is a fraud!Review from Sarah D

This is the worst serviceThis is one of the worst service companies we have found in 20+ years in business. Logging on to complete some transaction thru their service, we discovered that Authorize.net had arbitrarily erected an obstacle, in effect a 3rd password, for us to access our account. Tried calling their service number for relief, they said that they may not answer for 10 minutes; at 35 minutes, still no answer. we are seeking another service to settle our credit card payments.
