The service was for a 'One Time German ***** Treatment' at a cost of $199 plus a $4.87 service fee. $99 was charged before the service to hold a spot on the schedule on 7/31/24, then the remaining amount of $154.87 was charged after the service was completed on 8/14/24. We hope this explanation helps

I started a service with RIDD Pest Control Services Account Number , honestly they are too expensive for the product they handle, they promised follow up service, not at all, I already paid 4 months for 1 service, I am moving out of the state, so, they forced me to send a copy of my lease agreement from the state Im going to, needless to say, the landlord asked about a signature in a contract that has information blockedNow they say that I have a balance due, so I say I paid you enough for 1 serviceThey wont cancel my contract, so Im considering a lawsuit in small claims, what do you recommend? Thank you very much, best regards.

      Hi ****,

We can confirm that you account is closed now due to you moving. The first payment was made on 8/24/24 after the first service was completed. Per the signed customer contract, the account is billed monthly while service is provided bimonthly. Service was due in October, however, the account had a balance on it starting on 10/24/24. We are unable service the home when there is a balance on the account. The account was then closed on 11/5/24 after the appropriate information was sent in. You were not charged 4 times, you were only charged on 8/28/24 and then 9/24/24 for the monthly bill. We hope this explanation helps!

On April 20, 2024 my husband **** and I were approached by **** in our neighborhood. Their salesperson said that **** could deal with rooftop rodent control and offered us an 18-month contract. By June of this year, the company said that the salesperson lied and that **** did not work on roofs, but we are still obligated to the contract. We will not continue to pay since the contract was created under false pretenses.

Thank you for the reply. We see that on the contract the monthly recurring amount was for $103.87, billed monthly. The service was set up for bimonthly service meaning service is automatically scheduled bimonthly. Yes you are correct, we refunded the September payment to try and help the situation. We have tried to come provide service on 10/23, 10/25, 10/28 where service was refused. It looks like another service is scheduled for 11/6. We also can see that you spoke to your account manager who offered to remove mosquitos from your current subscription to help lower the price of the monthly bill. That is still an option for you if that works better for your situation. Unfortunately, if you still desire to cancel, the $199 early cancelation fee will need to be paid.

      Business response

      10/31/2024

The billing is monthly and the service is provided bimonthly per the signed contract. Therefore, service was provided in July and the account was billed for July and August. The bill for September was refunded since service was provided late. October was then billed, but as you stated, service was refused a couple of times since the cancelation fee had not been paid and the account was open. However, we have closed the account without charging a cancelation fee. We hope this helps! Thank you.

I had a 1 year contract with Ridd that started in May of 2023. It was supposed to end in May of 2024 but someone altered my contract to be a 2 year contract. I contacted them, had a charge removed and the contract was supposed to be updated to its original time. They tried to talk me into further services and the conversation was ended with me thinking it over. Since then I have contacted them directly telling them I wanted no further services. They said okay but the next month I was charged $54.37. I called again to complain, have the charge removed and try to end the service again. They argued and refused so I called my bank (Wells Fargo) and had Ridd cut off from using my debt card. About two weeks ago a service tech from ridd shows up at my house to spray but I intervened, informed the tech that I had canceled a few times already and I did not want the service so he left. A few days ago I get a text message from ridd claiming that I owe them $54.37 for a service I 1. Did not want 2. Did not get and 3. Have canceled multiple times. They are illegally trying to charge my debt card and I would like them to stop, clear any charges and leave me alone

      Hi *******,

We are sorry to hear about this experience. All customer contracts move to month to month after the initial term agreed upon is over. We do see that you had a 12 month subscription so after May of 2024 the account moved to month to month where you could cancel at any time without any additional fees. However, as stated in the contract, to cancel an account it must be done over the phone with an account manager. On 7/2/24 we see that you did indeed talk to an account manager where he offered to lower your rate in an effort to help fit into your budget since you had already completed the length of your contract. The note states that you were going to think about the new rate and call back. Unfortunately, we never heard back and the account remained open. This was the only time we heard that you wanted to cancel the account and don't see other multiple attempts to cancel.  As you know, the account is billed monthly and we had made many efforts to treat your home in September when service was due but service was declined. However, since you are out of contract, we have closed the account and you will no longer be contacted. Thank you.

On 9/10/24, SAM, went to my daughters house, offered her a "GREAT DEAL" on spraying their home and setting them up on a "bi-monthly" visit. So, she called me since I was having the same issues, and SAM, was going to give me the same "GREAT DEAL". $150 for the initial service which normally cost $399. All he said was if we cancelled our membership early, that we would have to pay the difference of this initial service at that time. Well, now they have charged me $400, $150, and a separate charge of $250, which I did not agree to. Sadly, they did the same thing to my daughter, which they are a young couple, about to have a baby, and this was already a stretch for them but they are trying to get their house ready for the new baby. I have reviewed all of my emails they sent me, and no where do they give you a copy of anything agreed to while he is standing in our house with you. Now, I am finding all over the internet that this company scams so many people out of money! Sad, because we would have been fantastic clients if the salesman didn't lie to you. I want the $250 back that I did NOT agree to pay, and I want my entire account cancelled immediately.

      Hi Kathy,

We can assure you that we not trying to scam any customer out of any money as we have legitimate services to offer that can really help out homeowners. With that being said, we can see what happening on this account. The $150 was paid for the initial service, then the next day an additional $249 was charged. This was an error with our software provider. We are working tirelessly with out software provider since this is a bug that effects our customers in a very bad way. That $249 charge was refunded this morning since it was not supposed to be charged. Going forward, you will have a monthly bill of $143.87/mo as outlined in the contract. Please let us know if you have any further questions!

I work from home. I was in my home and a pest red person came to my door. He asked me did I want to do a spray for my home and at the time we were infested with ants I said yes I needed him to come back a little later when I was on a break when he came back, I was not on break and I was literally on the phone with the customer. He told me all I had to do was pay him $75 sign for the technician to come out there and spray they’ll spray And that’s what happened. This was in the month of July 2024. I paid them $75. They came and sprayed the ants did not go away. I waited a week ants were still there so I had somebody come out and spray they had to charge my daughters car because something was going on with my card like a month later my daughter comes to me and says mom the pest control people was trying to charge my card and I’m like what they already sprayed so I called them. They tell me that I am under contract and they cannot cancel. I’m trying to explain to them. The dude never told me that it was a yearly contract. He told me they were gonna come spray for the $75. That’s what I paid them. I don’t want a yearly contract. I want them to cancel. They’re telling me that they can’t cancel and I don’t understand why they only came out here once I pay them. The guy never explained to me that it was a monthly thing and I told them to go back and speak to the sales person because he never told CV I was at my home at work literally in the middle of talking to a customer. He told me ma’am you just gotta pay $75 will come and spray and that’s what happened. never once did he tell me that I would have to pay them every single month and that I would never be able to get out of it. They literally have only came one time in July. They spray the ant did not go anywhere. I had to pay somebody else to come spray and now they won’t cancel and I don’t understand why because I was duped into this contract. You came one time I paid you. I don’t understand why you can’t cancel.

In June 2024, a *** from Ridd Pest Control knocked on our door and offered their services for $50 a month and said they'd come out every other month. We agreed. They serviced the house right then and there. No comment about the service. Our bank account was charged $73 and some change in July and again in August. Called **** and questioned this charge. Was told that was the charge for every other month service. $50 a month was for quarterly service. Lie #1. We said, then change it to quarterly but we need someone to come out because of lots of bugs. They said we were already on the schedule to come out that day. Lie #2. Nobody came out. Called the next day. Was told someone would call us right back. Waited 2 hours. Called them again. Was told they didn't have any record that said they were supposed to come out at all. Lie #3. We said cancel our service. Now, the day prior, we were told on the phone that cancellation would cost $125. Today, we were told $199. Lie #4. We cancelled. They are a bunch of liars.

      HI *****,

We think we know what happened here. There is another account in our system under the name of '***********************' but they are in our ***************************. We looked up your account by your address and were able to see that it is under a name of '*********************'. That is where the different information and confusion has come into play since they are two different accounts in two different branches. You were originally set up for a monthly bill for $69 plus the standard service fee of $4.87. This is what we can see from the contract and welcome call that was emailed over to the email on file. You were changed to Pest 6 (bimonthly) and the bill was lowered to $50 back when **** called on 8/13/24.  We can see that you have paid the proper early cancelation fee. You will receive an email confirming that your account is now closed and you will no longer be contacted by ****. We wish you well in your future endeavors!

Signed pest control service agreement with RIDD based primarily on the representatives promise to help terminate my existing provider. No such help was ever provided. When contacting customer service to terminate the contract for breach of contract, they insisted that they could not waive the early termination fee despite the breach of contract. Had to pay the early termination fee to conclude the cancellation.

They are telling our customers that they have to sign up with them right away to continue service. We are absolutely not going out of businesses nor selling our business. We will be sure to review this with the sales reps but we can assure you that this practice is not tolerated and they do not go around saying other pest companies are going out of business.
