On Saturday, 12/12, I had an appointment at Bridal Corner in Ogden, Utah. My appointment was to try on dresses for my wedding in June. It was overall a great experience when it came to trying on dresses. However, when it came time to check out, she charged me for a veil I never agreed to pay for, as well as alterations that had not even been done. The proper measurements and fitting was not completed yet and was not scheduled to be done until April of 2023. I went ahead and paid for my dress still and after looking more at the receipt she gave me was when I realized she charged me more than what I was told. I did not take the dress with me due to needing to come back in to get measurements done at a later time. When I looked more at the charges, I called and told her I wanted to return the veil. She told me "ok we can return it." After reading reviews of Bridal Corner, people advised not to leave your dress there, because the owner lets people wear it and try it on even though it's paid for. I called and requested to pick up my dress, she told me I needed an appointment. Instead, I decided I wanted to return my dress due to the lack of transparency. When I went in to get a refund on everything, she told me I needed to pay a 20% restocking fee on EVERYTHING- including the taxes she charged me. Breakdown of charges: Cost of dress: $1,100 Amount Paid: $1,761.12 Amount Returned: $1,585.91 Amount charged for restock fee: $175.21 The reason I am reporting this to the BBB is I believe this is fraud to charge someone a 20% restock fee for an item that never left the store, a service that was not done, as well as charging a fee for the tax paid on it as well.
