This location is a high traffic area.The customer's complain a lot with the homeless being around the business selling drugs not to mentioned the high theft in the store. The manager of the store is not complying with safety for staff, the parking lot in the community is always nasty of trash doesn't look good at all. The customers are tired of the loitering in front of the the store and panhandling .The rate the store going with the lack of customer service and the poor skills of being a people person where you work shows a lot and the customers see that as well not to mentioned can't keep staff at your store as well ..It's definitely unfortunate...Review from Michael W

Bought a heater for my office from the family dollar on Garner Rd in Raleigh NC. The heater did not work. Tried to get an exchange on the same day within a couple of hours of purchase and was told no exchange on electronics. I have the original receipt and it's in the original package. This is unacceptable. I am also the consumer protection agency for recourse since this company seems uninterested. Mike ******** leaving one star because I have too. Poor customer service and poorly made products. Patronize at your own risk. This takes me back to the days when they sold irregular underwear and t shirts. On 10/22/2024 I went into the family dollar at broad street to purchase a few things to prepare a meal. After returning to the register with my items, I felt a strong need to use the restroom as I had been waiting on my commute to the Family Dollar store. I then placed my items at the checkout and advised the clerk that I had to run to the restroom, I will be right back to pay for my items. Then proceeded to the rear of the store where the restrooms are located. Once I reached within 3 feet of the males restroom, I was startled by a young lady who yelled at me what are you doing back here? I replied, going to the restroom ma’am. She then replied, You are a WHOLE MAN and you can use it outside. You cannot use this restroom!!!… I then replied, this is a public place, this is a public restroom, and I am a paying customer. She replied, you are not a customer because at this point I’m refusing you service. you seen the sign on the door!!! I replied what sign and proceeded to look on the door for the sign. After seeing there was no sign she advise me that someone removed it. I replied well I’ll just pay for my things and leave. As I approached the register she followed me with a phone and called the police on me saying i refused to leave the store. I then proceeded back to my vehicle where I had a accident messing my clothes and my car. After arriving home to get myself cleaned up, I called the store and requested for the number for Corporate. The then gave me the wrong number. I called this number and it was some life line program for medical alert. I then called the store back and advised she should give the correct information because it’s mandatory that I speak with corporate. She then hung up on me. I didn’t get any sleep last night as I had to be up to drive back to mobile to file my complaint via another store location.Review from Donna H

I was in the store a few days ago. When I wanted change for a $20 after paying for my items with my card. The clerk (I think her name is ******** or something with a B) said she couldnt and had to call a manager up. Quay came up and told me they couldnt. I told her it has been done before. She said well thats against policy and thats why theyre not here anymore. If anyone has done that in the past they have been fired and will be if anyone do it again. Her tone was aggressive and negative. She lacks good customer service, professionalism and compassion for customers. She proceeded to argue with me after I told her Im going to pray that God changes your heart because your attitude is nasty. We exchanged a few words and I left the store. I came back today 10/6/24 and she didnt speak and had an attitude because she had to ring me up. I asked so youre going to be nasty every time I come in here now? No greeting She said Yes, dont come in here no more! You dont need to come in here. I asked why? She then said we have it all on camera, you threatened me to the other day. I asked what did I threaten to do? And I began recording her. She kept lying and saying I did threaten her. And called someone on the phone. I asked again what threat did I make? What does your camera show? I know it didnt capture me threatening anyone. Quay kept saying you wont be able to come in here no more. And she will have me not able to return to the store. I have been a customer since January 2024 when I moved in this area, well before she started there. I am not a problem to anyone. She kept watching me as I gathered my items to buy. Never once saying you threatened me the other day or say Ill call the police because you threatened me the other day. Quay saw me as I walked in and there was nothing. Why wouldnt she say something upon immediately seeing me if she claims I threatened her? Quay has very bad energy and needs to be corrected. She is a liar!Review from Daniel D

Family dollar store store number ***** Address *** ** Burnside Bronx, NY 10457 As a customer, I walked into the store, went to go get my item, then went to the register to check out. The employee scanned the product and told me the price was $***** I then referred to their family dollar application, where it states the same product for seven dollars even. I then asked to price match their own website and was told we don’t do that. Then the manager, Emily **** walks up and told me that we don’t honor the price and cannot give me the price. That’s advertised on Family dollar application. Also, the store manager Fran***** ******** implemented the new rule. It’s not about the fact that it’s just a $*** difference, it’s the fact that they are breaking the law. I must mention the item listed on their website is not a sale item and not part of any promotion, it is of regular price advertised for seven dollars As I began to pay regular price for the item, I also noticed another customer having the same issue and was told the same exact thing. This has happened to me before at this location. I am asking someone please look into this, because the business practices are faulty and unfair to the consumer.Review from Felicia M

This place is not only unprofessional, but unorganized, rude, disrespectful, lacks empathy to name a fee. I went to purchase some medication due to my child having a high fever. I first waited in a long line for 20 minutes for one cashier. Then once I made it to the register she had to help someone else, no problem. They open up another register and take the people who just got in line before me, I spoke up saying im next, I need to get out of here. She responds with an attitude you should of went over there. I didn't know another register opened because no one said next customer in line, nor when I express how that was rude she says I can't look over there an here, instead of apologizing for any of the inconvenience. She continued to play around with me, when I got to the register she asked if I wanted a bag, I said well yes, she dances while opening the bag slowly, now she is playing with me. I grabbed my bag and left, putting my own items in the bag, she then grabs the recept and throws it in the trash. I walked my kids to the car and came back in. She says I don't know where the recept is, I gave it to you, I said I saw you put it in trash, she says we'll its in the trash. I told her to call her manager, im not playing these games with you. The manager comes and takes it out the trash, straightening it and handing it to me, telling me to have a nice day. This is not how you treat customers.Review from Olivia Y

Store #00499 my husband picked up $****** worth of cleaning products & a few personal items on 09/07. I went back 4 days later to return the items that we didn’t need, unopened and in original condition. I was rudely refused to return items with receipt because based it’s over $*** dollars. Called the manager for her approval and she said she needed to be there and I had to come back in the morning 8 am. I said that was a major inconvenience because we have a week old newborn and that was the only time i had to do the return. Nonetheless, my husband went the following morning to be told the manager has the day off and they don’t know her schedule. We need immediate help with our refund. This is unacceptable! This “policy” is not on the receipt, website or posted in the store.Review from Hadden W

The Charlotte Michigan Family Dollar in the shopping plaza, on Tuesday August 13th, I was in line behind one other lady to check out. The male clerk in talking with the lady ahead of me started using foul language as was the lady ahead of me. It was th* * ***** When she finished and left. I said to the male clerk that I thought as an employee he should not be using such foul language in front of customers. He raised his voice at me saying it was a free country he was sorry if it offended me however he could speak say or talk how he liked when where and anytime he liked. I informed him it would then be my last visit to this store, he said fine I was free to shop where ever i liked, that his manager knew how he talks and has never said anything to him about it. I have worked customer service most my life. Never would I treat a customer as he did me, it was very disrespectful, rude, and totally unnecessary.
