Warning: Do Not Hire Sam Straud for Your Wedding Photography Needs! My experience with Sam Straud and his photography team was a nightmare from start to finish. Despite initial excitement, his unprofessionalism, inconsistency, and disregard for clients emerged post-contract and payment. Communication and Organization Issues: Unresponsive and inconsistent communication, especially when scheduling pre-wedding meetings. Ignored emails, delayed responses, and missed appointments led to last-minute, rushed discussions regarding the wedding day. Photography Direction and Quality: Lack of direction during the wedding day, requiring constant guidance on group photos and adherence to the shot list. Family and friends observed unprofessional behavior, describing Sam as unorganized, disengaged, and oddly cocky. Sneak Peeks and Editing Problems: After the wedding, the promised sneak peeks were delayed, with Sam later claiming they weren't part of the contract. Six poorly edited photos received after a week, showcasing a lack of effort and professionalism. Delayed Photo and Video Delivery: Despite a 12-week contract, we waited 14 weeks for the majority of our photos and videos. The delivered photos revealed crucial moments missing, such as portraits with family and the removal of sunsets from pictures. False Statements and Editing Refusals: Sam lied about the sunset photos, contradicting prior assurances, and denied the guarantee of items on the shot list. Refusal to provide original raw proofs, limiting options to poorly edited photos, including 40 table pictures with undesirable filters. Unfulfilled Album Promise: More than 13 months post-wedding, the promised wedding album, included in the contract, remains undelivered. The culmination of these issues is deeply disappointing, especially given the substantial financial investment of over $7,000. My wedding day was marred by Sam Straud's incompetence, and I strongly advise against hiring him for any photography services.
