Initial Complaint

- Complaint Type:
- Service or Repair Issues
- Status:
- Resolved
I called the company out for a blower motor replacement. I had to leave and go to work so I wasn’t present for the whole repair. They said after they replaced the blower motor, that I needed a whole new system for $8000 because mine had a “leak”. I got a second opinion from a trusted professional. He preformed a leak test with a refrigerant detector on the whole system, and only found a leak at the value on the outdoor unit. The value was loosened and it leaked all the refrigerant out. It was working fine before the blower motor went out. The initial technician clearly loosened the valve and then told me I needed a whole new system for $8000. This is down right dirty and male-practice in my opinion. Between the time of the initial repair and the time between my trusted professional, they “loaned” me small ac units to cool my house and charged me $750.00. They did not inform me that I would be charged for these cooling units in between these times. I was fine with paying for the blower motor and labor, but this is downright appalling that they would try and do this to someone who doesn’t know. They should be reprimanded for this, because some people are not financially secure. -Thank you for your time ******* ****** ******Business response

Dear *******,I do apologize you feel this way about the situation. However it is not fair to assume that our technician loosened the valve on your system without actual proof of this being done. Along with the fact we did not tell you you had to replace the system. We offered the solution to perform a leak check and determine where the leak is. Along with provided the option for replacement. Where we have your signature for approval of replacement of the system. So as we do with all our customers with system replacements we provide spot coolers to keep them cooling until we get there for the replacement as a good faith for them having us do the work and to keep them comfortable as they are typically spending a lot of money to have this work done. In this process our technician had talked to your mom about everything going on so she was in the loop as well. We gave you these with that intention because we had your signature for replacement as that is the route you chose to go with us. We can refund you for the spot coolers but we performed the work of the motor and got that in the system. Again we do apologize you feel this way about the situation if you have any further questions or concerns give me a call.Customer response
