June 2021 I contracted Bayview Exteriors LLC to perform a roof replacement for my residential home. The cost was ****** paid half up front and half when completed. The "roof", while technically complete, leaked a massive amount of water, causing excessive damage to drywall, ceilings, floors insulation, and installed appliances. I have contacted the contractor to find a solution, and they have ceased returning my emails and have screened my phone calls, despite a contractual promise of labor warranty(which is covered in this case, due to shoddy workmanship). Both professional roofing inspectors and my insurance ************* have verified that the roofing job was of incredibly low-quality and I have been encouraged to sue the contractor for a refund on the roof and for damages to my property caused by the negligent construction. I have grounds to bring a breach of contract lawsuit, and enough proof to wash away any opposition. Contacting the BBB is the final step to prove to a court that I have followed every possible avenue to handle this without involving a lawsuit. I have already furnished a Letter of Demand to this effect to the contractor. I have attached a copy of this letter with this complaint. If the BBB can deliver this complaint to the offender, and at the very least establish a line of communication(which I have been unsuccessful in, as mentioned above), it would be swell. Convincing them to comply to my demands would be even better. I can provide any additional information are needed upon request. Thank you for your efforts. ****

Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2022/05/03) */ "We dispute Mr. ****'s claims about the quality of our work. We recommended additional work at the start of the job, which he refused. After he informed us that he was dissatisfied, we investigated and offered to perform some additional work free of charge because we thought it might help solve some of his problems and help alleviate his concerns. He refused our offer. He has continued to harass us over this dispute for months, despite our efforts to come to a reasonable solution, and has made a multitude of threats including litigation and a complaint to ***** so we had no choice but to retain counsel to defend our company. On the advice of counsel we will not provide further details beyond our adamant denial that there were any flaws in our company's workmanship or that we in any way breached any contract or warranty, express or implied, at any phase of our work with Mr. ****." Consumer Response /* (4200, 14, 2022/05/12) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) While the BBB has done a fine job of forcing a response from Bayview(as they have actively avoided my communications), there is nothing else to pursue in this venue. Bayview will be held accountable for their sub-par craftsmanship(a roof that leaks), failure to abide by their own contractual agreements(it seems they have not even read it), and underhanded business tactics(they think they are sneaky enough to get away with it). Thank you, BBB, for your efforts, but this will be resolved. I do not expect or require any further response from Bayview.
