Johnny Auto Care first fixed my truck last year summer 2021 when he installed my alternator. Then my truck went down again in Nov and I had it towed back to Johnny's on 11/11 and they quoted me ******** and I told him I would have to get it towed and wait to get fixed because I didn't have it. But I made a big mistake giving him my BMW I was told the quote had change due to the pandemic and prices on items have gone up and so did the labor fine. I gave Johnny's my truck to finish on May 2nd 2022 and asked to only fix what was quoted my car was ready on Friday May 13th and she said they tried to put in a battery but I had stuff in the trunk but I asked them to only fix what was quoted but I wasn't aware or told until Monday May 16th and I was being charged storage. I called and spoke with his daughter who always answer the phone rudely on Friday the 20th I told her I wasnt able to pick up the truck until Wednesday she said it was fine and the price would be ***** because they don't charge for the weekend. My spouse called her back on that Monday the 23rd and she changed the price to ******** and stated because it was ready on the 13th no one called so I kept being charged. $25 storage fee until my price was ****** I went to get my car last Friday May 27th and when I attempted to pull off it stopped right in the front of the shop and they gave me another jump and it stopped again johnny and his coworker laughed and laughed staying I need a battery. I had a second opinion and the screaming I hear when it turn on it's the pulleys he never fixed and a few other parts but.je fixed nothing I put down $1000 because he said he require a deposit so i paid him a total of ****** dollars for nothing while they laughed and walked away friday the 27th. Johnny stated himself that he has so many cars ppl never come back for because they can't afford it he is about to open a car lot. He is a scammer and taking advantage of people. It's not rightBusiness response

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/08/17) */ I am sorry for any issues you may have had but we would like to say that we tried to explain everything to you and you choose not to fix it with our recommendations. Every time you bought your vehicle in, you would not fix the list of things that were needed to make the vehicle safe. In June of 2021 you brought the vehicle in and ONLY wanted your front pads put on, which you provided. The rotors were paper thin and dangerous. Then in Aug of 2021 you towed the vehicle back into our shop and wanted us to replace your alternator with one you supplied. The brakes were very dangerous, due to you still driving. The driver side front caliper had fluid leaking and the pedal would go to the floor. You did not want to fix that, and we had you sign paperwork stating you did not want the work done and it was dangerous to drive. It also took you two weeks to pick up your vehicle and we did not charge you storage this time, to help you and your boyfriend out. Nov of 2021 you then towed the vehicle back in with the water pump, belt tensioner, and brakes not working. You would not fix it, and we had you sign paperwork stating it was not drivable until the list was completed. Then we had your vehicle for two more weeks before you towed the vehicle out. We did charge a check over and storage fee's at this visit. The last visit which was May of 2022, you called a month before and I explained to you that we could not take the vehicle in without a deposit. We also requoted you work due to price changes, and let you know since you were still using the vehicle the list may have been longer due to not seeing the vehicle since Nov of 2021. I also explained once the vehicle was completed, if it was not picked up in a timely manner there would be storage fees again. You then towed the vehicle in, we found the battery was bad, the brakes needed sensors , the power steering pulley, and there was a coolant hose broken. You then told us to do most of the work but to NOT do the battery, or coolant hose. We explained a few different times to you and your boyfriend, that the vehicle would not stay running without a jump box due to the battery being bad and the coolant was running out without that hose fixed. You told us you did not want us to fix it. We tried to explain over and over but you were set on not fixing it and still driving the vehicle. You then called us and said you were coming for over a week, and never showed. Then your boyfriend, on 5/12/22 showed up at 4:30, (we close at 5) saying he was waiting on you to bring money and we stayed till 7 trying to help you! You never showed and we had to leave and go home to our families. Then 5/13/22 you showed up and paid the bill. We did jump start the car, and we asked you to sign paperwork again, since we knew the vehicle would not drive without a new hose, new battery, or jump box hooked to it. You said you would install your own battery and hose with your boyfriend. We jumped the car 2x and it kept cutting off, so we then helped pushed the car into the side parking lot and you told us you would come back the next day with a new battery, for us not to touch it! Then your vehicle stayed for about 3-4 MORE days in the side parking lot while you and your boyfriend kept cleaning the vehicle out and trying to replace the battery. I am very sorry you feel the way you do, but we cannot do our job without our customer's approval. We try to make every customer happy.Initial Complaint

In July 2021, I was having some engine problems with my 1991 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 and took it to Johnny's Auto Care LLC for repair. It wasn't until the week of 10/11/2021, I was contacted by Johnny advising that I come in and look at the car. When I arrived, the car seemed to be running fine, but I was advised there were a few more things that needed to be done to the vehicle. On 10/21/2021, I received a call from Johnny advising the car was ready for pick up. The total invoice came to ******** which was more than I expected but I was in a rush and did not question the charges. As I drove the car, I noticed it still wasn't running great. In review of the invoice, there was work done that I didn't authorize. I contacted Johnny on 11/1/2021 to notify him of the issue and that I would be bringing the car back to him to fix. After Johnny had a chance to look at the car the second time, he contacted me to notify me that it was the throttle body, but he was not able to locate the part for my particular year and model. I located the part online, purchased, and delivered the part to Johnny for him to install. The next issue was with the distributor. Again, he was not able to locate the part; therefore, I purchased and brought to him to install. On 11/09/2021, Johnny called to advise that the throttle body and distributor were installed but that did not resolve the issue. He would need to do more labor-intensive work that would consist of taking the fuel injection system off and putting a carburetor on it. This would result in additional costs in the range of ***** to ****** I declined and asked if the car was drivable for which he advised it was. I picked up the vehicle and barely made a mile down the road when it started stopping, going, and hesitating drastically. I had to have the car towed to another mechanic who advised that there was a hole in the new throttle body. A pipe had been broken off the top.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/05) */ The Vehicle came in, was told by the owner it came from another shop and the other shop could not get running correct. We checked vehicle over and found a list of things wrong, spoke to customer over the phone and he told us to do the repairs to fix the issues. Multi broken parts were changed just to get vehicle running including the melted spark plug wires on the exhaust manifold, intake manifold, water neck, flywheel, stabilizer bar, clutch for transmission, engine mounts, spark plugs, wires, thermostat, temp sensor, air control valve, dist cap, and even windows. The customer told us once again over the phone to do said repairs. Even brought some of his own part he ordered offline. We can not be responsible for any parts that are not from our shop. And all work was spoken to the customer and approved. We are sorry if you had any ill feelings but we did not do anymore than what we discussed. Vehicle still had some things that needed to be done and the customer did not want to do at this time. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/04/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The shop owner is incorrect I did not authorize any other work besides fixing the engine problem. He is confusing my 1991 mustang with my sons' 2000 mustang. My son's name is ******* also. I had put new spark plug wires and distributor cap on the car only one spark plug wire was damaged, he could have just told me about it instead of putting wires on my car that he found lying around in his shop which is what he told me. The shop did work to my car that was not necessary or authorized. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/04/12) */ Mr. ******* I went over both vehicles invoices and both of them needed the work that was done and we talked over the phone about both vehicles each time. I am so sorry if you are misunderstood but we stand by our work and did the job like we were told to do so. We would like to point out we have had a great rating with BBB for over 10 years. I am sorry that you feel this way but we stand by our invoice and work. We hope you have a wonderful and blessed day. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/04/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Mr. ***** the 2000 Ford mustang belongs to my son we did not speak on the phone about that car. We first spoke on the phone about my 1991 Ford Mustang when you advised that the engine was repaired, and I could pick it up. The second time after I returned my car to you because it was not fixed, I called you and left a message with your office personnel for you not to perform any unauthorized work to my car. After that you called me twice more to tell me what parts you needed i.e. the distributor and the throttle body which was broken when I last picked it up from you. What does tie rods, stabilizer bar kit ,or alignment have to do with an engine problem. You replaced my battery when the existing battery was bought in 2020, the battery you put in my car had to be recharged two days after I picked up the car the second time. The main thing is my car is still not running after it was at your shop twice. I want the money back for the unauthorized work performed on my car. Honestly, you should not have been paid for the authorized work you performed because the car still is not running and for the broken throttle body. I am being reasonable by only wanting the money back for the unauthorized work.
