In April I noticed the battery light was on my 1991 Acura Legend. I replaced the alternator brand new from **** ****, the battery light continued to stay on. I had a mechanic who lives on my street look at it. He thought I needed a ecm. I got one and he installed it. The battery light went out temporarily. I drove the car to work May 19th no problems. That afternoon as I was leaving work, the light came on. I immediately pulled over, called my insurance for a tow truck. Drove car on and off the truck delivered to *********. June 28th ****** texted he needed a starter it shorted out internally and that’s why it started blowing fuses. Said that’s why the light was on. Not the ecm not the alternator, the starter. July 6th ****** told me it wasn’t the starter. Referred to Techen Mechanical. Car delivered to Techen on 15 July. After a couple of months Techen said they was waiting on a fuel relay. A few weeks later I went out there and ***** apologized said he should’ve called but you need a fuel pump. Asked if I needed to get it, he said no, they will. As I was leaving I ran into the guy who was working on it. I explained to him, I drove the car that day. He told me when they got the car it wasn’t running. They didn’t know the car was running when I dropped it off. Techen called me and told me the alternator fried the ecm. Had me purchase another 1. In October Techen called to say the car is ready. I paid $663.17 jumped in the car pulled off and came right back. The car was doing exactly what it was doing when I dropped it off to *********. Almost 5 months and over $1000 and it’s doing the exact same thing. Techen said the alternator fried the ecm, they fixed that now they charged an additional $168 for alternator removal and replacement. The new alternator tested bad so **** **** replaced it. Both companies involved refuse to tell **** **** their alternator caused the damages even though both have told me so. Didn’t need the starter, fuel pump, fuel relay, guessing $ me

We did not know what the problem was and we had spent about 10 hours diagnosing the problem and still could not figure out the problem so we only charged the customer for 2 hours labor and referred him to techne mechanical. Techne mechanical figured out that the customers alternator that he purchased and installed himself had fried the computer. This complaint has nothing to do with us. His complaint is with techne mechanical.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. They had my car for over a month. The car was running when they recieved it, they sent it over to Techen, not running. Yes I put the altenator in and it was put in right. Notice they didn't say I put it in wrong. Impossible to do that. Regards, ******* *******

Mr *******  purchased his on parts  .We determined the problem and installed the parts  Mr ****** furnished . It is up to him to handle any problems with those parts, since we did not furnish the parts we can not help him.   We are sorry for his problems . If you furnish you on parts you have to take responsibility for any problems with those parts.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Regards, ******* *******When I dropped my car off to ********* Performance my car was running. The only issue with it was the battery light was on due to a bad alternator which was purchased bad by me. After installing it the battery light was still on. ********* passed my car over to Techen mechanical who told me that the alternator fried my ecm. Both companies told me it was different things other than the alternator. ********* said it was the starter. Charged me to put it on and to take it back off. They said they didn't work on my car. They put a new battery cable instead of 2, they fixed the rpm gage, hooked my glove compartment back up, ****** said he changed the ecm to see if it did the same thing which it did because the ecms was good. The bottom line is when I dropped off the car it was running with the battery light on. When Techen handed it back to me, it was doing the exact same thing it was doing when I towed it to *********. $1000 later and it was doing the exact same thing. ********* said it was the starter before they turned it over to Techen. Techen said at 1st it was the fuel pump relay then the fuel pump. It was neither.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The mechanic from Techen mechanical told me in his own words that, the alternator fried the ecm. When I dropped the car off to ********* , my car was running, ecm was Not fried. Starter , fuel pump, and fuel pump relay All was working when I turned over the keys. Over 4 months and over $1000 later I was given the car back exactly the same way when I dropped it off to *********. I took it back to the mechanic at Techen and told him its doing the exact same thing. He said again, it's the alternator. if you don't change it , it will fry this one too. So, I paid Techen another $160 to put the alternator on after taking the old ( new) 1 back to ********. If another alternator would have been put on my car instead of the other things that it clearly didn't need , then this wouldn't be happening. Not my fault Regards, ******* *******

Consumer bought and installed the alternator himself.  Car was towed to ********* who then towed to us.  We did install new alternator, cost $168 because the other one was installed incorrectly or was bad.  We had to do diagnostics on this vehicle since we did not do the initial diagnostics.  Found it was the computer relay and not the fuel pump relay.  We did not install a new fuel pump.   Cost of the computer relay and diagnostics was $663 and some change.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Yes I did install the alternator  battery light was still on. How can 1 put the it on wrong. They know that's impossible. Notice neither company said the alternator was put on wrong. How is that even possible? They know that its not the case. Like putting a square block inside a circle . Not going to fit. It's impossible to put it on backwards or upside down, whatever their trying to say is false. And they know it.  Regards, ******* *******
