On August 3, 2023 Jay Bailey, owner of Jay's Tree Service, submitted an estimate for removing a fallen tree, a smaller tree that was attached and cleaning of the cut branches, etc.... .On August 14, Jay returned to my property. During this second visit, on August 14, he verbally indicated that he would cut a dead wild cherry tree and remove it as well, for the same price. I considered his proposal and asked if he would remove a pine tree which was closer to my home than the wild cherry tree instead and how much more he would charge me. He convinced me that another pine tree which was located in close proximity to my home too should be removed because the area where the tree had naturally split into two different huge sections was showing deterioration and he was concerned that it may fall too. He stated that the second quote ($2200 more) would also include the dead cherry tree. I emailed him on August 15 to request that he cut the pine tree, that I initially requested, which was closer to my home and leave the dead cherry tree. On August 16, when the work was scheduled to begin, he informed me that he was not charging me for the dead cherry tree removal and that removal of the second pine tree would be extra. I could not afford additional charges. He promised me that he would provide me with an itemized receipt of the job. I have written several emails to him requesting the itemized receipt. His voice mailbox on his phone is always full. In hindsight, I realize that the cherrywood fetches a handsome price. I wrote him a check on August 17, the day that his company finished the job. He cashed the check the same day. He is refusing to provide me with an itemized receipt for work completed. He has left his business sign in my yard since August 17. Since I got his name from the BBB listings, I hope that your office will help me obtain an itemized invoice/receipt from Jay Bailey. Thank you. If you need any documentation, I will be glad to provide what I have.

We have already provided and itemized receipt to the customer. This is how the invoice needs to be made to submit to the insurance company. The invoice includes all work that was completed and agreed upon and price that was paid.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I submitted a separate email containing a series of emails that I sent to Jay Bailey regarding work that his company performed on my property. Mr. Bailey promised to provide me with an itemized receipt for the work completed because he added additional work and charges to his initial estimate the day before the work was scheduled. He has failed continuously to live up to his word. I still want an itemized receipt for my records, as indicated in my emails and  telephone calls that I referred to with him in my emails. . Regards, ****** ******

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I am not satisfied with this resolution because Mr. Jay Bailey refuses to send me an ITEMIZED RECEIPT OF TREE WORK THAT HE COMPLETED AT MY HOME. Mr. Bailey received a signed personal check from me, ye he seems to be concerned with what he thinks would be acceptable by an insurance company. I was his customer-not an insurance company. It seems that he continues to refuse to provide me with the requested receipt. This is business 101. He needs not concern himself with anything but the itemized receipt that I requested.  An itemized list of the work done on my property and charges for the items listed needs to be provided. Thank you. Regards, ****** ******
