I asked Innovation welding to install the cable railing they sold me. They agreed and began instillation. They sent 3 workers for 4 hours one day and 2 workers for 3 hours another day. They didnt get halfway done and I called the owner and said I would finish the job myself and to send me an invoice for the hours worked. I sent him a detailed explanation of the hours worked by his employees. He sent me a bill for $3,000 that included more drive hours than work hours. I told him he, nor anyone in his company informed me that he would charge drive hours or I would have never had him do the job. Furthermore, the second time they were at my house they had to work at another job in my area prior to coming to my house. So I explained to them the ethical dilemma they have by charging me for drive hours when they were at another job prior to my house. Ive sent multiple emails requesting they change their invoice so I can pay them. *** stated my case to them and explained very clearly they did not notify me of the odd fees they charge prior to agreeing to do my job. It is not common business practice or knowledge that a company charges labor to drive. I would have never agreed to their service had they explained that.

This customer, ******************* recently contacted us to send him a BID for cable railing components and installation of the product. **** was sent this estimate that included install for 1 day (8 hours). This includes our drive time as the job location is 2- **** hours away for us. He declined to have us install the cable railing and then changed his mind a few weeks later and called to ask us to install. He needed us to install asap and had us out there fairly quickly to finish up the job. **** was away that the original estimate stated we would charge $2000/ for an 8 hour day. Our crew spent two days out there, a 3 man crew on one day and a 2 man crew on the other. Our guys worked a total of 7 hours on the job site and 10 hours of drive time (5 hours of drive time for both days.) (Day 1 4 hours of work and 5 hours of drive time=9 hours, 2nd day was 3 hours of work and 5 hours of drive time =8 hours). Instead of charging **** for 2 days @ $2,000.00/day, we charged **** the $2000.00 for the first day (as quoted originally) and $1,000.00 for the second day, as we were down south that day and cut him a break on the drive time. **** has tried to get us to drop our price on numerous occasions and continues to ask us to waive the 10 hours of drive time and only charge him for the install hours. We are a small company and would never agree to drive 10 hours for free. We pay all of our employees drive time and would be happy to send in any documents needed to prove this. When **** bought the cable components from us, he did not want to make ********************************************** to pick up the parts and there full we brought them with us to a job down south to have him pick up there for a shorter distance for him. **** also ended up needing more cable components and asked us to mail him more as he did not want to make the drive up north to pick them up. **** was unwilling to ever make the drive up to our location, but now expects us to make the drive to him, twice and for free? We have been more then gracious to **** and accommodating to him. We can attach any additional documents needed.
