My experience with Good Life was very positive. The loan officer was extremely patient and helpful and guided me through some problems that arose due to my rural property. She was not only friendly and professional but we had a few good laughs together along the way. I believe the company to be competent and wish I could recommend her by name as she deservrs the cognition.Review from Richard K

My experience with GoodLife Home Loans was exceptionally good. The loan officer was very knowledgeable with obtaining a reverse mortgage. The entire process was very smooth and in a timely matter. As a matter of fact, I actually closed sooner than I had originally anticipated. My loan officer had a cheerful disposition which helped make working with her even more enjoyable. I highly recommend their services. As a added note. I did my homework by reviewing some of their competitors and came to the conclusion that GoodLife Home Loans would be my best choice. I just closed my refi on my reverse mortgage with Good Life. It was a very good experience. My Agent ******** was terrific. He was very patient with all my questions and explained everything in a clear manner. He kept in touch thru the whole process and let me know what was to come next at all times. After receiving the run- around from several mortgage loan companies, ***********************************, at Good Life Home Loans gave me his full attention and demonstrated the full range of his loan officer talent which is considerable. Cutting through the red tape he made it look easy and our interface was actually enjoyable. Within weeks we received a very favorable refi loan. I am a senior citizen age 75 and a widow, I face the most terrible experience in the refinance of the reverse mortgage service provided by the agent ( ******************************* ) **********.I hustle four months with her to complete the process, she was rude, unpolite , even she had the courage to hang up the telephone on me three times when I tried to understand what she exactly want, I end up cancelling the refinance with Goodlife Home Loans, after I signed the final closing documents, because of her and the game she played by sticking in the final documents a term and condition in the interest and the available fund quite different than her proposal and against our will.I believe the upper management of the company should monitor her practice, because she might use same tricks with other senior people, and that will hurt company reputation.GoodLife Home Loans Response

The goal of GoodLife Home Loans®?is to help people make well-informed financial decisions. We were very sorry to learn that the applicant felt the service levels of our company did not meet their expectations and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Research was conducted on the transaction within our system and interviews with the loan officer and her manager were performed. Regrettably this transaction did take longer than we would have liked. There were, however, a few contributing factors to this delay, one of which was the requirement of a second appraisal under FHA guidelines. Unfortunately, the industry is experiencing a longer than normal turn times in appraisal reports. The appraised value came in lower than anticipated impacting the amount of the loan that could be approved. In discussions with applicant and her brother-in-law, it was expressed to the loan officer that the amount of money to be obtained was now insufficient to accomplish desired goals. The loan officer recommended an alternative adjustable rate HECM which would fit her needs and provide more funds. The adjustable-rate product does in fact have different interest rate terms than the fixed rate initially applied for. The loan was redisclosed and revised good faith estimate with the new adjustable interest rate, terms, and fees was emailed on November 18th. The closing document terms matched the redisclosed terms sent to applicant on November 18th. The amount of funds available from this refinance was impacted by a higher-than-expected loan payoff of the applicant’s existing loan and payment of applicant’s taxes which were paid from the loan proceeds. Again, we hope the applicant will accept our apologies for any miscommunication on our part that led to her decision to rescind the transaction.
